I absolutely love my oral hygienist, Sarah. She is thorough, punctual, amiable, professional and personable. Each time she cleans and evaluates my teeth, I leave the office smiling and looking forward to my next visit.

The staff starting with the front desk were very helpful. My husband Donovan Dunkley referred me to LWSS. My hygienist Sarah made me feel very comfortable and she was very helpful. Dr. T came in and assessed my x-rays and did a check on my teeth as well. I was very satisfied with my visit and they have a new patient in me.

My experience occurred several years ago, however the resulting incompetencey is just now coming to full fruition. My initial appointment was made with the purpose of replacing a filling which had become dislodged . During Covid, at the time I sought care, this was one of the only practices which had an appointment without an astronomical wait period . While in the chair receiving care the dentist was engaged in constant unprofessional conversation with the assistant . The assistant asked the dentist if she would like a band(not certain that is the correct terminology) in order to help shape the filling . The dentist told her no, it was not necessary . The assistant seemed surprised at the response. Everything seemed to be fine once I was done with the appointment other than being informed I had an unrelated cavity which I needed to get filled . I made the follow up appointment for that treatment before leaving . From that appointment to the follow up I was experiencing constant discomfort at the site of the replaced filling . This was unusual for me as I had not previously experienced such during numerous dental treatments(at a different practice) and years of orthodontic treatments. My tolerance for pain is high . The dentist checked over her previous work prior to me receiving the new filling . She informed me she found nothing wrong and that I should not be experiencing any pain . She assured me that the discomfort would continue to dissipate, it did not . After that visit I again made a follow up as I continued to experience discomfort . Once again I was told that there was no problem. Several years have passed since that treatment, during that time I’ve avoided the dentist as the experience left a lot to be desired . I went from enjoying having regular cleaning appointments and care to avoiding dentist altogether. Both cavities that were filled with this practice have continued to be uncomfortable and bleed continuously upon flossing . The areas around the fillings catch food which requires flossing after every meal. Yesterday while eating I noticed one of the fillings was loose . I floss my teeth, the filling then became dislodged. I have several fillings both silver and porcelain, on average they last 10 + years . This filling is only 3 years old and already needs replacing. I am thankful it did come out however because in doing such it revealed the source of my sporadic pain . The tooth directly behind it has severe decay ,which was hidden behind the now dislodged filling. There is a hole which completely exposes the root at the bottom of tooth, the hole is directly across from the area of the work that was required while replacing my lost filling . Socializing with an assistant and not focusing on the task at hand and a slight slip of the hand ? I of course can not prove this to be a case of malpractice, especially after all this time . I can speculate however as to why the dentist did not want to address my concern initially as it would of exposed her unprofessional conduct and inability to provide optimum care .
Now off to either a root canal or an extraction, this time with a male dentist .
