Called for a second opinion appointment and scheduled for my Children. Arrived at appointment to discover it was cancelled because they don’t provide opinions for Children. Would have been professional to be informed at time of making appointment. No email, no text, to inform me. The staff informed me a was sent a voicemail that I did not receive. Staff was unhelpful at front desk. Solo parenting and driving through traffic with three small children to be sent home was very disappointing and difficult.

I do not normally leave reviews like this, but my experience with Little Creek Family Dental was genuinely unacceptable. I would leave 0 stars if I could.
Patients should be aware that this office requires payment for major dental work at the time of scheduling, not when services are actually performed. In my case, I had already prepaid a large amount for a crown appointment weeks in advance. That policy was never emphasized clearly when I joined the practice, after being without a dental practice for a year, and I suspect many patients do not realize what they are agreeing to until they are financially locked in.
I had to cancel a crown appointment 2 months ago due to an unexpected traumatic crisis impacting my workplace. I emailed the office the day before and called first thing the next morning after being pulled into emergency responsibilities. Instead of even the smallest amount of empathy or professionalism, I was immediately met with attitude and told I “owed” a $200 cancellation fee because I had not given 48 hours notice.
Policies exist for a reason. I understand that. What I do not understand is treating people like inconveniences during extraordinary circumstances.
I asked multiple times to speak with the practice manager. Over the course of an entire month, I was repeatedly given excuses for why nobody had called me back. No callback ever came. No resolution was offered. No concern was shown. Just stonewalling and dismissiveness.
Eventually, after weeks of being ignored, I told them to keep the $200 out of the money I had already prepaid for services I never received and cancel all future appointments. That was over a month ago. I still have not received written confirmation that my appointments were canceled.
What stands out most about this experience is not the fee itself. It is the complete lack of compassion, accountability, and communication from management.
To be fair, one front desk employee with purple hair was very kind, and my hygienist was excellent. But the practice manager and overall handling of this situation were so unprofessional that I will never return and cannot recommend this office to others.
People deserve to know what kind of exploitative practice they are walking into before handing over hundreds or thousands of dollars upfront.

I will not be recommending this place to anyone. I only picked this place because they had the soonest appointment availability when I moved to Virginia. Mind you, the appointment was still scheduled 9 months out. The first appointment was fine. For my second appointment with them (6 month cleaning), they called me the morning of to cancel my appointment because the hygienist was out sick. I was told they would call back when they decided on a day (Friday) they could open up to cover all the cancelled appointment. This was on a Thursday. I called the following Monday morning to see if they had an opening. They said no. I asked when I could expect a call, receptionist said she didn’t have an answer for me. They called me on Monday at 1522 (11 DAYS AFTER MY CANCELLED APPOINTMENT) to see if I could come in the next day, Tuesday at 0730. I live 30 minutes away from this place. I said no. They have called twice after for other days that WEREN’T Friday like they said it would be. This has been the most unprofessional experience I’ve had. I rather wait another 9 months for a cleaning than to give them my business.

Absolutely amazing treatment and customer service!!! Toni, Dr. Chelsa Carey and Kristal are the best!!! I have had multiple dental appointments with them and they have made each and every visit feel just like I was visiting FAMILY!!! I'm so glad that I am now a regular patient at Little Creek Family Dental and I have already referred them to friends of mine!!!

Zero was absolutely amazing. She was respectful and polite but above all else she was extremely professional. Stacy was polite and professional as well as efficient. The ladies at the front desk were polite and organized. My overall experience was amazing and I will definitely refer my friends here.

I hate to leave a negative review but I am very frustrated with this practice. I switched dentists due to my dentist no longer taking my insurance. I spoke with the front desk, sent my dental records, and my dental insurance information. I was assured that my insurance was taken numerous times, I waited a few months for a new patient appointment (totally understandable), and was called the DAY before my appointment to notify me that they did not take my insurance. I expressed my frustration and was told I could pay out of pocket. I asked to speak with the practice manager after I cancelled my appointment. I was told I would receive a call back, but weeks later, I have not!

Had my cleaning today the front office staff was so sweet. My hygienist was so kind and love how she educated me on better home care! The Dr was very thorough. And I purchased a whitening kit to take home, I can't wait to try it
