Me and my daughter went to American Classic Tattoo for our mother-daughter tattoos, and we is absolutely in love with them! From the very beginning, their communication was perfect quick, responsive, and professional every step of the way. The shop itself was spotless and welcoming, and everyone we spoke with treated us with kindness and respect.
They took the time to answer all our questions, made sure we felt happy, and the whole process was smooth from start to finish. The artist worked efficiently without ever rushing us, and the end result is beyond what we imagine. beautiful matching tattoos. This wasn’t just about the ink, it was about creating a memory, and American Classic Tattoo made it perfect for me and my daughter. 10 stars !!!

The only shop in Newport News that take walk ins later in the day which was very accommodating. Went with a group of friends the shop minimum is $100. There was a nice young lady with Red Hair that was trying to be accommodating to my friend, with great customer service. It was our friend’s first time. The other Individual, who I believe is an owner was another story. I wouldn’t say rude but just seemed very annoyed with us and not friendly. Additionally my other friend and I experienced in getting tattoos know when we are being over charged unfortunately. The shop would have left with 400$ plus tip for three tattoos all line work. One less than the size of a quarter and the other two, maybe 2.5 inches in length and width. We understand the coverage run down of prep time, supplies, paying the artist, and time in chair. But the owner we worked with’s personality made me very uncomfortable to move forward. I’d rather drive the hour and a half out of the way to Lucky 13 in Richmond (my normal shop) and receive better customer service, equivalent work, and better price with the shop minimum being $50.

Juniper was an amazing artist! She was very patient with my mom, sister, and I who did a last minute walk-in to get matching tattoos. She showed us a few fonts and helped us with deciding placement. You could tell she wanted to make sure the artwork was done well, even if it was just numbers. The shop itself was very clean and had a welcoming environment. I have quite a few different tattoos from different places/artists and this was definitely one of my top experiences in a shop!

Awkward photo, but it'll do. I went to ACT because after following Lucy on IG for a few years I decided to bite the bullet. I was a fumbling mess the first time I met her. (Thanks to anxiety I'll randomly relive those moments time to time and have second hand embarrassment) She talked me through it and we picked a few pieces and started working on my sleeve.
I love going there, it's clean, comfy, the couch...I could sleep on that couch.
But back to the meat of the review. Lucy is light handed and packs the color in. I've been told for YEARS color wouldn't show up on me properly. Lucy showed me otherwise, we finished my right sleeve in April 2023 and the yellow is still as bright as it was the day I left the shop. Immaculate.
Also tip y'all artists.
