Amazing group of doctors. Even when it appeared there was nothing that could be done for my husband when he went into cardiac arrest and his EF was 5%, they didn’t give up. They didn’t think he would make it but they were going to try. They placed him on ECMO and when he survived that they placed him on Impella and when he surprised then with coming though that 16 days after his heart stopped they placed an LVAD and he was home 14 days after implant. My husband is here today thanks to them and the heart failure and LVAD team. Dr. Schaefer just did surgery on my mother in-law. I can’t forget this words, “pray for me”. This was humbling, I did not doubt that God had imparted all the knowledge he needed to do the surgery and anointed his hands; to hear him utter those words assured me of why we have you as Mom’s surgeon.
