Extremely poor experience. Sales were misleading, promises broken, materials and workmanship are bad, customer service is unprofessional, and the home is overpriced. Always get everything in writing, otherwise, Ashton Woods Homes will not fulfill promises. For a better experience, go with a local builder.

We closed our new home on sept 29 of 2022. After We had our 3rd party inspection a week before closing, inspector had pointed out that the cooktop was defective, Ashton Woods had promised us at the time that it will indeed be replaced before closing. However, A day after closing the house we noticed the stovetop was not replaced so we called Isaac the project manager, the same individual that had promised us it would be replaced and we were told that wirlpool techs will come and replace it in 2 weeks. As I write this message now its been almost 4 months we had a loaner (smaller coottop)for about 2 months in the middle but the rest of the time we have been using a camping stove. We have gone thru 10s of those butane cans. and have spent $100s of dollars on eating outside because we cant cook. We still dont have a replacement because as per Isaac, wirlpool has to come to our house 3 times to qualify for a replacement and its only been 2 times. We were promised a compensation after the second time part was defective, that also Isaac said will not happen. We bought the house for half a million dollars in cash and are left without a stove 4 months later despite several promises and back and forth with them. We cannot even get a number for someone higher up to take our case to. Be careful doing business with Ashton woods, you might endup in our situation using camping stove for months. This is unacceptable and we have been struggling to make food at an efficient rate for everyone in the home to be well fed and healthy. This has to change.

If you are considering purchasing an Ashton Woods home, do yourself a favor and reconsider. We purchased from the Meridian at Southgate neighborhood in Mckinney, TX and the building process was terrible. This company is grossly mismanaged and they will consume all your time because they can't fix anything right the first or second time or make it worse so you just give up.Our close date was pushed out multiple times but we agreed to close with a signed agreement that repairs be completed in 60 day. We've been in our home for half a year and still dealing with repairs. The warranty department rep doesn't respond to you and they'll have you run in circles to get anything done.Our attic door was not properly installed so we had a huge electric bill the first month after we moved in, irrigation had a leak our inspector notified the builder about but they needed "proof" of the leak before fixing it so our water bill was 2x what it should have been until it got repaired a month later, our HVAC system is not working properly (upstairs temp 8-10 degrees F higher) and we are still waiting for them to fix this. Our trees were dead when we moved in, gas drop rusted, toilet clogged (there was poop in our toilet when we did our walk through), the oven trips the breaker, walls and trim grossly crooked, kitchen island was crooked and trim bowing, floor uneven, subfloors creaking in multiple spots. Some of these items have been remedied and we're told some of these problems are known issues with our floor plan.We asked for financial assistance to help pay for the unexpected costs due to builder errors but the best they could do is offer a gift card to our favorite restaurant or shop (which we did not get). The sales manager told us we should've asked for money back at closing because now it's too late. We were not trying to get a discount, we just wanted a home that was properly built. In summary, do yourself a favor and buy your home from another builder.
