My husband and I stayed here for 1 night. We picked this hotel because we are members of the West Gate or I guess actually called "owners" since we bought into the timeshare program. This hotel looked so nice on the outside and the Lobby was nice. The people that checked us into our room were very friendly. However, the room needs alot of work. We stayed in a King Room that had a whirlpool tub in it. Well, the whirl pool tub was broke, the actual bathtub looked disgusting, the furniture was in rough shape, and part of the flooring was coming apart. These rooms could be very nice with alot of updating.

This hotel has the best location for all of Gatlinburg. Being right beside the aquarium and 1 street over from the entertainment strip made it easy for walking or using the free trolleys. No wifi but still had phone/text service just fine. There was plenty to do in the town, so we didn't mind. The room had an adjoining door and we could hear the other room clearly through that but otherwise didn't hear any other guest rooms. All the hotel staff were amazingly polite and texted us to make sure everything was taken care of for any requests. The hotel was being worked on at a different building and the hotel restaurant was closed. But we would enjoy coming back another year....read full review

This is my second trip to the River Terrace Resort in the past 3 months and I have to say both stays were absolutely perfect. To start, everyone at the front were extremely professional, helpful and polite. I had made special requests on both stays and they were able to accommodate them. The hotel is one of Gatlinburg's older hotels but has been renovated very nicely with high quality beds, pillows and plenty of towels. And I must say the rooms are huge, twice the size of the newer hotels. The location is ideal, I only took my car out once. Everything is within walking distance. This is definitely my go to hotel for future stays.
