Admitted to 5 west, the room was filthy. I was told I could "request" housekeeping. I did due to the odor of the room and requested the floor be mopped. It was "spot-mopped". 3 times over 2 weeks. Toilet was not cleaned. Cobwebs hung over my husband's head. Dirt and Dust lined the ceiling. One of My deepest regret's is that my husband spent the last two weeks of his life in such filth! This hospital has gone so downhill. And, I've been a patron for 64 years. On a positive note, with one exception, the nurse's were excellent

I went in with a serious concern with a golf ball sized cyst on ovary after having a hysterectomy one month ago...pretty scary possible contortion of ovary...thank the Lord it wasn't but I couldn't have asked for more better care from my wonderful nurse in the ER (KAREN) and the ultrasound tech was the best tech I've ever come in contact with (Michael)!!!! I would recommend anyone to request these amazing healthcare staff for any needs.

Unfortunately I had to spend a week here. The first day was spent in the hall of the ER. It was horrible. There was a man with Covid placed very close. I understand that many that go to the ER are addicted to drugs but I spent hours In severe pain before even Tylenol was offered. Then hours before anything else was offered and I was moved to a room. The entire week was made harder than need be. One particular nurse that I had was particularly horrible. She was former army trained but I can't imagine that she had any true nursing training. Being taken down for an X-ray was particularly terrible. As I was left in a cold hallway with people passing by both before and after. I tried using the call button a couple times but no one came. Lastly, the food was like cardboard. I will say it seemed prepared with care but when you start with the worst ingredients and use no seasoning it is hopeless. A regular diet should be a regular diet and not fake foods.

The staff in the ED are terrible and have zero empathy for their patients. It seems like they are their solely to collect a check. They don't seem to realize the word CARE! in the word Medical Care. Very rude and the space is very dirty would not recommend this hospital if you want help.

WORST ER I HAVE EVER BEEN IN. Understaffed, poor communication, super crowded and very noisy. The male triage nurse was semi recumbent over two chairs. He spent perhaps 30 seconds reviewing the paperwork from the community hospital I was referred from. His reply to me indicated he didn't listen to a word that I said. I went to the ER for MRI and Cardiac Ultrasound after having a cardiac ablation two days before to rule out a clot due to symptoms of partial vision loss. I stated I was there for a MRI to each person i talked to. I was at the ER for almost 7 hrs waiting before i was told there wasn't an MRI tech in the hospital since 4pm. So, the entire time I was waiting, there was no one to do the MRI--and no one told me. Had I known this, I would have gone to another ER in Greenville. This was April of this year- the staff was not wearing masks!!!! When I got to the hospital room after 9 hours of waiting, I was doors away from patients with active covid. My nurses on the hospital floor were excellent. The Hospitalists were excellent and kind once I saw them--but it took far too long. I called X3 to voice my concerns and complaints about the ER and no one ever called me back--it appears that's how much they care about improving things. I was surprised that they leave this task to a nonprofessional. The food service was atrocious. They brought mostly foods I said I could not tolerate due to food allergies. Although I had a good experience days before with my cardiac surgery, I have changed doctors and hospitals as I never want to be at their mercy again. I wish I had read reviews before choosing this hospital for surgery.

The pictures shown are from the helicopter I was transported in from the accident I was involved in, in Spartanburg SC 11-1-21. I sustained 67% total body surface burns Without this flight crew I may not be able to share my story with you guys today. I would love to meet the flight crew that took such great care of me in transport to the burn center in Augusta to thank them in person. If someone can make that happen feel free to message me. My family and I thank you.

My experience was soooo horrible! The nurses were very rude and when needed help the doctor told me to basically go home and see if something happens. They wouldn't check me or nothing for personal reasons. I didn't even receive discharge papers as well. I also sat in the emergency room for hours and watch people that came in wayyy after me go in the back before me while I was in pain. I don't recommend that hospital at all they act like they don't care!

If I could select 0 stars, I would!!!! My bestfriend, Promis Merryman, was admitted to this hospital July 19th of 2021. The reason her life ended at this hospital are for several reasons.. A nurse that works here named CONNIE RENA SMITH has a son named KENNETH DANIEL SMITH who gave Promis a pill that caused her to overdose. His mother, who is said to have narcan in her house for her junky son, never called for help or her parents to let them know what was going on.. Instead, when they decided to call, KENNETH DANIEL SMITH LIES TO THE EMTS TELLING THEM SHE HADNT TAKEN ANYTHING! By the time Promis' parents arrived, she was cold and lifeless. CONNIE RENA SMITH, a nurse at this facility, failed to inform relatives that their young, beautiful, full of life 21 y/o daughter, sister, friend had passed away. Promis was her son's girlfriend. How devastating this story leaves many of her loved ones. How devastating this facility allows people like her to care for people in need. DO NOT bring loved ones or friends here. DO NOT allow CONNIE SMITH to be employed here.

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS BEFORE DECIDING TO ADMIT YOURSELF OR A LOVED ONE TO THIS HOSPITAL. I am leaving this straightforward and detailed review so that other potential patients understand why this hospital receives so many poor reviews. My daughter is currently at the medical center following an emergency gall bladder removal. The care has been outrageously bad. For starters, my daughter, her mother, and I asked to speak to the attending surgeon, Dr. Hird, BEFORE SURGERY. The nurse left a note in her chart that we insisted that we speak to the surgeon BEFORE surgery. He never once met with my daughter, her mother, or spoke to me. In fact, I had to call several times complaining that it was highly irregular for the surgeon not to speak to a patient BEFORE surgery. All he told me was "sorry." No explanation; no reason given. Next issue, my daughter was admitted early yesterday morning after which time she could not eat or drink before the surgery which is protocol. After surgery, she started vomiting bile off and on for hours. She has been unable to keep any water down. Around 11am, we asked why she was not being given maintenance hydration through her IV. The nurse from this morning told us that the doctor had not ordered it so that they were unable to give her hydration. This evening, we insisted on speaking with the charge nurse. Approximately 3 hours later, she told us that she had an order for hydration and that they would begin administer to my daughter. At that time, I asked her to tell me what time that order for hydration was placed. She informed us that the order was placed AT 10:00 AM. As I write this, it is 9:35 PM. In other words, she went over 11 HOURS WITHOUT RECEIVING MAINTENANCE HYDRATION. If you aren't familiar with gall bladder surgery, it impacts the way that you digest fatty food, sn other words, after the surgery, especially for the first weeks and a few months, you must avoid eating fatty foods. Nevertheless, after surgery, the dietician brought my daughter A HAMBURGER AND FRENCH FRIES. Only after we raised cain with the attending physician did they provide her with apple sauce and a fruit cup Lastly, the protocol for discharging a patient after gall bladder removal surgery is straight forward; prior to discharge, the patient should not be vomiting, they should be able to eat , and they should be able to have a bowel movement. Amazingly, while my daughter was vomiting bile in her hospital bed (and she has not used the restroom because she has had neither food nor drink), the nursing staff was finalizing her discharge paperwork! Fortunately, after an uncomfortable conversation with the charge nurse and, finally, the surgeon, they withdrew their attempt to discharge my daughter until those minimal criteria were met. To sum up, I am APPALLED at the lack of attention, the poor care, the lack of communication, and the apparent lack of responsibility this hospital has shown to my daughter. To the person who responds to these reviews, I strongly encourage you to have a senior administrator call me first thing tomorrow to start answering why the care was so poor and to take genuine responsibility for this hospital's many shortcomings. They can call me at my law office - 843-284-5500 or on my cell phone (my number in my daughter's chart; same last name).
