We hired Peartree Homes to construct a complete living area above our detached garage with a living room, kitchenette, tiled bathroom and shower. Before making our decision, we interviewed about a dozen other contractors for the job and decided to go with Peartree. David, the owner, is very professional and responsive, which was critical to us given the large scale of the project which involved extensive demo work and raising the roof of the garage, not to mention adding plumbing, HVAC, stairs, wood flooring, cabinets, countertops, trim, finish work, etc. After my initial conversation with David, it was immediately clear to me that they were the company to go with and...read full review

We have all heard (or maybe experienced) the horror stories of working with general contractors or subcontractors when doing home renovations or repairs -- late to schedule, over budget, hidden costs, gouging you, poor quality, etc., etc. I am here to tell you emphatically and truthfully NONE of that is true when working with Peartree Homes!!!!!!!My wife and I decided we were going to stay in our current house due to the nature of the housing market in Charleston. We had Peartree do a complete upstairs master bedroom suite renovation on Folly Island Project came out great. Project included a new dormer, and complete reworking of the existing upstairs utilities and partitions based on our architectural drawings. David and his team were responsive, flexible and always focused on getting the best project to meet our goals. As with any major renovation we had our share of challenges and were able to work through them to our satisfaction.
