Okay, my I-want-to-keep-this-all-to-myself self wants to give MHEC a 1-star review and tell you how horrible this place is. LOL! But the truth is -- I LOVE THIS PLACE! We just returned from spending Christmas and New Year's camped there with our horse, jingle-belling our way down their trails and soaking in the wonderful Charleston ambiance. One of the best vacations EVER, and much owed to the accommodating staff---Donna, Dan, & Brian---who made it so. We'll be back! Probably next year!

This is a place that is a bit out of the way and still struggling for an identity but they have so much to offer.Located on Johns Island somewhere between Maybank and Kiawah, this isn't a place you stumble upon.It is part of the County Park system but also an equestrian center so it can confuse some.What they do have is this:1. Live events2. Miles of walking paths3. Camping options4. Disc Golf5. Viewing of horses on occassionFor $1 and free for members, on a nice day, it is worth the trip.

Beautiful location for a horse show, which is why I was there. Plenty of parking. Lots of fence for you to lean up against with a piece of straw in your mouth to watch the horses. Several trees for shade so you won't get sunburned by being in the sun all day watching horses.
