My wife and I found the Lighthouse Tax and Consulting, LLC Certified Public Accountants and Consultants in December of 2024, by way of the Next-door App. We moved to SC in 2022 from NJ. For the first two years we continued to use our old accountant in NJ. However, we understood that we would need an accountant who was knowledgeable about SC taxes.
We were lucky to meet Mr. Paul Griz of Lighthouse. Right away during my first meeting, Mr. Griz was extremely helpful. He was attentive, responsive, and thoughtful. He took the time to answer my long list of questions and assured me that he was able to help us.
Mr. Griz and his staff made everything so easy. In particular Michelle, his receptionist, made us feel at home and was so friendly and courteous.
We first were made aware of the documents that were needed from us in order to get started. We were given all kinds of information and a schedule as to when our tax return would be completed. Mr. Griz made important observations and calculations that assisted us in getting a well-done tax return. Our tax return was completed in about a week’s time. When we went in to review and receive our return, Mr. Griz provided a detailed explanation of everything, and we were able to follow along line by line on a computer screen projected on the wall. He gave us comprehensive recommendations and suggestions that will assist us in the coming year.

The owner of this firm during my initial meeting told me that he was a complete Trumper. I don't think that in this day and age you should be assuming that everyone in your circle or community thinks what you think and believes what you believe and for that reason, I have not used their services and won't. don't be a hater. It's just my opinion, and my prerogative as to where to spend my money and who i support. The clincher was, he said I can live with some mean tweets. I sat speechless wanting to ask him. "What about that whole overthrow the government thing?" he doesn't need my money I don't have anything of significance. I just wanted his help doing my taxes this year because of a lot of medical issues maybe that's a lesson for other small business owners in our community not everybody is a Trumper so don't alienate and otherwise potentially valuable customer for their business and more importantly they referrals. what's the old lesson?? it's easier to keep a customer than find a new one his receptionist is kind, friendly and a good representative for her boss.

I have been using Lighthouse Taxes for years, Paul Griz is not only extremely knowlegable and proficient but so kind, detailed and helpful as well. I pass out his business cards to everyone I meet looking for the best tax consultant/bookkeeping and CPA and all of the lowcountry.
