We had three panes of stained glass in our front entrance that had seen better days: they were discolored from the sun, had numerous cracks, and the casting mold that held them was broken in multiple places.
OHSG came directly to the house, explained in detail the process, using the pieces as they stood to help demonstrate what would be remedied in the restoration phase, as well as what changes they would make to ensure it matched the existing space around the pieces and improve its functionality.
Now at the end of the project, we couldn't be happier with their work. It looks fantastic, blends perfectly with the woodwork we have, and now features an added...read full review
My wife and I priced out some replacement windows for our 100 year old house. Some of the estimates including Andersons and a few others where totally ridiculous as I could not believe the cost. We called Sean from Observatory hill Stained glass who specializes in stained glass and window repair and reconditioning. His price was extremely fair. We had him do 6 windows on the 3rd floor. He ripped out all the widows and replaced all the chains and repaired all the widow sills and redid all the widow frames, cleaned the glass and re did everything so it looked like new as well as painted and sealing. Sean did a totally amazing job and he would be my first call when i need any widow fixed or repaired. If you are in need of stained glass repair or regular windows repaired then Observatory stained glass is definitely the place to call as you will be 100% satisfied as my wife and I both where
Ok SO you live in Pittsburgh there are many beautiful old homes with stained glass windows and windows that are rotting and about to fall out. Welcome to my house. I am more about preservation then replacement so I have a dormer on my third floor with 3 original windows with their original rope their original weights (they built them different in the old days) these were not the sliders of my old house. So one day I attempted to open the window omg it was so rotted out it was going to fall out WHAT do I do? I called Sean from Observatory Hill Stained Glass. Here is the good stuff he did a beautiful restoration job of my old window he actually fully removed the windows redid them painted them put them back in. The sashes should last another 100 years Now the middle window top comes down the way it did in 1907 so the house can properly vent. It truly is a thing of beauty. These windows are better than ever and look stunning. Sean can do magic he has the skill to bring your stained glass back to life and be able to open windows the way they were intended to be. Its easy enough to replace but when you want preservation use OHSG A great deal of time and effort went into this restoration Sean's prices were more then fair
