Body & Sole Reflexology and Spa

I nearly forgot to write this review because I was trying to move on from this situation, but I feel it is important to warn others.

On June 23rd, I decided to treat my boyfriend to a spa session - a couple’s massage. We arrived at 1:45 PM, and our session concluded at approximately 4:45 PM. Everything seemed wonderful, and I fully intended to share my positive experience with friends and family.

I used my CareCredit card to pay, which is essentially a line of credit. I was charged $208.00, and I signed the receipt authorizing that amount. A CareCredit transaction is not valid unless the cardholder signs and agrees to the charge. After paying, I wished them a good day and left.

Like most people, I expected to leave the spa feeling better than when I arrived. Unfortunately, that was not the case with Body & Sole. A few hours later, I received a text message from Jenna, an employee at Body & Sole (screenshots attached), requesting an additional $80 because they had made an error. Naturally, I ignored the message because it is not my responsibility to correct a business’s billing mistake.

I went on with my life until July 9th, when I discovered that an $80 charge had been added to my CareCredit account without my knowledge or authorization. Let me emphasize this: I did not sign anything authorizing this additional charge. Because CareCredit is a form of credit, this meant they effectively took out additional debt in my name without my consent. I immediately contacted CareCredit, and they confirmed that a signed authorization is required for any charge. They advised me to first give the business an opportunity to reverse the unauthorized transaction before pursuing further action.

When I returned to Body & Sole, I confronted the staff about the charge. The receptionist attempted to justify their actions by saying, “We tried contacting you,” as if that somehow gave them permission to charge my account. She claimed they had simply entered the wrong amount initially but that the correct amount had been listed on the original signed agreement. I requested a copy of the signed document.

She went to the back and returned with a paper they had created themselves, stating “$80 owed to us.” This was not the signed contract I had requested. When I pointed this out and again demanded to see the original signed document, she admitted that she did not have it. I then asked to speak with the manager. I was told the manager was busy, so I waited approximately 20 minutes.

Eventually, I met with the owner of the spa. To my disbelief, the owner attempted to defend their actions. At that point, I made it clear that if my money was not returned immediately, I would involve law enforcement due to what I believed to be fraudulent conduct. After a heated discussion and a phone call between the owner and CareCredit, the unauthorized charge was finally reversed.

What happened here was deeply concerning. Charging a customer’s credit account without written authorization is unacceptable. Times are hard, and people work too hard for their money to have businesses take additional funds simply because of an internal mistake. When you pay for a service, you should be able to complete the transaction and move on with your day - not worry about whether a business will later reach into your account to correct its own negligence.

I will never return to this establishment, and I strongly recommend that others think twice before trusting this business with their financial information - especially when the owner appears to believe this type of behavior is justified

Body and sole offers the most relaxing experience you could ever want. My stress diminishes from the time I walk in the door. The massage therapists are wonderful at their jobs and are a pleasure to be with. If reflexology or a facial are what you're going for, you can't go wrong. They are wonderful and skilled as well.

I have been to Body & Sole probably a dozen times over the last few years and have always had a wonderful experience. Holly (the owner) is, hands down, the best reflexologist that I've come across. The treatments are so relaxing that I've fallen asleep a few times. Do yourself a favor and book a treatment. Your body will thank you!

I’ve been here 3 times already. What a gem. I have had reflexology, massages, and a facial services. Each service was excellent. I am returning costumer for sure!

I came here with my mother. Leena was very friendly and accommodating when I called Thursday to schedule appointments for the following day. They had openings for just what we needed! I had reflexology done by Holly, which was amazing! Then my mother and I shared a couples massage, Cathy and Claudia had us feeling completely relaxed and worked out so many painful kinks. We are already looking forward to scheduling our return visit! We will definitely call and schedule at least two months ahead of time.

I scheduled a couples massage for my Wife's Bday, Claudia and Kathy performed an exceptional massage!!
They applied the perfect amount of pressure and knew exactly how to work our problem areas. Our bodies were completely relaxed and rejuvenated afterwards!!
This was our 3rd or 4th massage, and they never disappoint!

What a lovely local oasis for relaxation. If you've never been to a spa before and need a good first time experience-this is the place for you. So quiet, the ambiance....everything was "chefs kiss." Will be back!
