I went to Penn State Medical for a torn rotator cuff. The doctor explained that before an MRI could be done, we needed to get my shoulder “unfrozen.” He prescribed ultrasound‑guided steroid injections and physical therapy, with a follow‑up in two months to determine if an MRI would be possible.
Unfortunately, the entire Penn State system couldn’t schedule me for the ultrasound‑guided steroid shots for almost two months.
