Been coming to Rough Cut Barbershop for years, the majority of that time in the chair I spent with Nick who is a fantastic barber and all around cool guy. Always down to chat and has immaculate attention to detail when it comes to styling and cutting hair. Would highly recommend getting a haircut from him! The shop is also kept very clean and always a nice vibe with good music playing and friendly faces. Love it here.

Keep in mind the culture of this barber is to pause a cut speak to everyone that walks in and many people will come in. So, the cut can be slow and distracted. Rough Cuts has a legacy in the neighborhood for the barbershop to be both hair stylists and social workers, giving triage to many strange folk who visit hoping to wedge in an appointment ad hoc. Its a different philosophy than a salon haircut. Maybe it suits a kind of hair stylist. Like preferring to work in a coffeehouse rather than a corporate workplace. If the ultimate question is whether you walk away with a good haircut, I would say that results vary so the best option is it visit and see.

Jackson is the best, most consistent barber I’ve ever had—I’ve lived in NYC, Philly, Seattle, etc. Ronee and the rest of the crew are always welcoming and down to chat.
