I recently had the pleasure of working with Tanya Magdalena, owner and tattoo artist at Above the Pearl Tattoo, and I could not be happier with my experience. Tanya spent three hours creating my new tattoo, and the entire process was exceptional from start to finish.

Her artistic talent is truly impressive. She designed a beautiful, custom piece that exceeded my expectations, taking the time to understand exactly what I wanted and bringing my vision to life with incredible precision and attention to detail. Wonderful experience! Beautiful art: she designed a floral cover up for a tattoo I was unsure could be done without removal sessions. Communication and expectations were thorough as well (particularly the need to go large to effectively camouflage the existing lines within the new design and going over healing instructions). My work was done in 3 sessions (with a 6 month touch up/ follow up scheduled), which allowed healing time in between. You'd never be able to tell I had a poorly done, asymmetrical Celtic knot style before, I love the tattoo she designed and inked ❤️, highly recommend!

I found Tanya searching for the best highly recommend tattoo artist in the Portland area. One could be skeptical of search results as it is these days. I scheduled and meet Tanya and was instantly convinced she was the right person to do my tattoo. The health and safety protocols are more than expected, she is interested in my health as well as hers. We met and discussed design concepts and I followed up with another meeting to go over art work. She provided several colors and size variations of my original design, could not ask for more.
