Being a competitive lifter unfortunately comes with its fair share of aches, pains, and injuries. I have had a chronic posterior/lateral knee pain since February 2020 that progressively became worse and worse until I was finally forced to take two months off of lifting, an unthinkable setback. I had seen Dr. Jameel B. in Atlanta, GA back in 2015, it was truly the best experiences I had ever encountered. Here we are five years later and three automobile accidents in a 18 month period, my neck and upper back stayed in constant pain. After seeing physical therapist, chiropractors and acupuncturist, I had accepted i was just going to have to deal with this pain the rest of my life because surgery or injections were not an option for me. I set up an appointment with Integrative Health and Sports Medicine not expecting much, I just received whiplash in an accident and was looking for a holistic way to recover. After consulting with Jameel, we decided to try acupuncture and my understanding for recovery has been forever changed. With a previous injury I’d struggled with for over a decade, having been opened up to acupuncture and cupping in the careful hands of Jameel it’s hard to not to see my whiplash as a blessing.
