Radiology waiting Room NYP is one of my go-to is for medical care. I get to the radiology check in and there are not enough seats for people to sit! Really bad especially if they are there for lower extremities.
This location is better than the Williams Street location. So I had pneumonia back in spring of 2019 and when I checked myself in, two courteous men came to me fast with wheelchairs. They were very sweet and were fighting to see which wheelchair I was going to sit in. Sad to say I forgot to ask for their names but they were nice. He wheeled me into the emergency room and the nurses were very nice and attentive. The staff was super fast too and did not keep me waiting. They put me on oxygen fast and attended my needs and make sure I was not in pain because I was in severe shooting pain that kept stabbing my rib like 10/10 pain in the lower lung. They quickly gave me medicine and once I had the medicine, the pain quickly went away. I was so thankful that it went away! Also I had the same staff who attended me the whole time I was there. I was out fast and got my medicine to treat my pneumonia. So the staff was super nice here.
Spent 5 days tending to a family member that was being treated after surgery. During those days, I found myself gloving up every morning and evening cleaning the bathroom and suite. No one came in during my 0700-2100 visit. That's a long time if you ask me. There was a employee that seem to be in charge of the floor, who had a chip on her shoulder, when I would ask question, she made no attempts for make eye contact, not even give a crap on what I had to say. There were a hand full of non-medical personnel that were there just for a paycheck, so sad. As far as the rotating RN's it was hit and miss. unfortunately I would of gave a 4 maybe 5 Start if all the nurses were spot on, but with disappointment some (you know who you are) didn't even come in the room all day and very agitated when asked to do there job (changing bloody bandaids). My utmost respect for the Doctors/Surgeons who commit their time there. The Hospital has great potential, however lacks leadership. Get it together, you guys are tearing apart the reputation of Columbia and Cornell.
