I got medium coffin nails and I love them. The place is spotless and they give you complimentary drinks and snacks. Staff are super friendly and attentive. Will be coming back here again. Highly recommend

On April 29th, I went to Zen Shu Spa because they were advertising a promotion that I decided to take advantage of. The promotion stated that by getting a manicure, you could unlock a Spa Rose Pedicure for $15 (a service I had previously received there before, and which I knew normally included gel). They were also offering a complimentary mini facial, only asking for a $20 tip for the facial specialist.
I went there expecting to spend around $100 total: $50 for the manicure, $15 for the pedicure, $20 for the facial specialist’s tip, and another $15 tip for the nail technician, who was truly wonderful, just like the girl who did the mini facial.
However, from the moment I walked in and mentioned I was there for the promotion, I immediately felt a change in the way I was treated. The managers — or whoever they are, since I’ve seen them doing nails, serving coffee, and supervising the staff — acted annoyed and said they had no idea about the promotion. I showed them the message, and one of them rudely responded that it was “not her job” and that I needed to speak directly with the owner, since he was the one responding to DMs.
After waiting for a while while they figured things out, I was finally seated. The service itself was actually very good. The employees were kind, professional, and clearly hardworking. The uncomfortable part came when it was time to pay.
The woman charging me suddenly said my total was $80 because they had used gel, which supposedly cost extra — something nobody informed me about or asked me beforehand. Especially confusing considering the Spa Rose Pedicure had included gel during my previous visit.
On top of that, she told me the facial “cost $20” and that it was “not the tip,” implying I still needed to give additional money because those $20 somehow didn’t count as gratuity.
Then, when I gave the nail technician a $5 tip, she looked at me and said: “She did both your hands and feet and you’re only giving her $5?” At that point there were around three people surrounding me, pressuring me while I was simply trying to understand why they were speaking to me in such a rude and aggressive way.
The issue was never about money. The issue was the lack of transparency, empathy, and professionalism. I even had to ask them to calm down and questioned why they were speaking to me so harshly.
A business can provide technically good services, but customer experience also depends on honesty, communication, and respect. I would give 0 stars if I could, but I’m leaving 1 star solely because of the humble, talented, and hardworking employees who actually performed the services.
I truly hope those employees are treated well behind the scenes, because after reading other reviews, I noticed several comments mentioning negligence and mistreatment toward staff as well. It’s honestly sad that a place trying so hard to appear luxurious and prestigious ends up feeling like nothing more than a facade.

I’m a frequent client, but this time the service felt lacking in empathy. The communication toward the end felt cold and there was pressure around payment/tipping. The overall customer experience could be handled with more care and professionalism. I really like the service and the staff who perform the work are very good. However, due to inconsistencies in pricing and the overall experience, I won’t be returning to this place again.

Not recommended. High-end in name only; low-end in customer service. The owner runs a poorly managed business—evident from his rude responses to other reviews.
I am still awaiting a refund for three unauthorized charges billed to my American Express for services I did not receive. Rather than addressing the issue promptly, the business was unresponsive, defensive, and unprofessional—forcing me to dispute charges that should have been corrected immediately.
What a headache.
The good news is that I found a MUCH better nail salon—with good people and great service. So, don't settle for less by going here.

My first time trying out zen shu and I am SO happy I came! Everything exceeded my expectations started at getting greeted at the door, offered a beverage and snack, to the amazing top notch pedicure! Everything in the salon was clean, pristine, and relaxing as well. I can’t want to try out some of their other services.

This was my first time here I had an amazing experience. I love the front desk girl my nail tech Allan was knowledgeable and professional. This this is definitely a wellness spa. They have snacks. I had some champagne. I just felt totally pampered. Definitely a spot like experience I also love the way my nails came out, and he absolutely listens to the length and the shape request. I wanted these viral glass nails and I definitely got it. I will Be back.
