We've used Hartman for several major projects over the years — a boiler installation and two separate Bosch AC units — and every job has gone smoothly, including yesterday's, which came with some serious challenges that the team pushed through without missing a beat.
A few people deserve specific recognition. Devin consistently goes the extra mile, is completely transparent, and genuinely makes a best effort to save us money wherever possible — a rarity in this industry. Johnny, the service manager, runs a tight ship and truly cares about doing the job right. The man was on site working through the job in a back brace — that tells you everything about his commitment. He and his team also took great care to keep our home clean throughout the work. His colleague Craig was super helpful as well.
As a company, Hartman always shows up right away, charges a fair price, and does quality work. We couldn't ask for more from an HVAC contractor. Highly recommend.

The whole situation from the start felt like I was being taken advantage of and not once did I actually feel like my time and my satisfaction with this company and the work they did was important. There’s a real lack of responsibility, integrity, ownership, honesty, and respect taking place with Hartmann’s and Esposito. In no way would I recommend them to anyone else and I will now be looking for a company that is competent, skilled, proficient, and values me as a customer.

Today we had Craig and Julio do a big job that had been a problem for us over 40 years 😜😤😢 they did a fabulous job We no longer have our kitchen sink back up when our washing machine is on !!!! Thank you Craig and Julio 🙏🏻 And they cleaned up after they were finished …I would definitely recommend this Company we also used them last week but Jonny did the work then !! Kudos to Jonny !! For another Great Job

Two weeks ago, we were told by an energy-efficiency technician that our gas boiler had a carbon monoxide leak — a frightening possibility. The company that had done a tune-and-clean just 40 days prior refused to come back, telling us to call 911 and a chimney company. Four chimney companies couldn’t verify an obstruction and several plumbers kept rescheduling us in favor of larger installations. After a full week we still had no help.
Finding Hartmann & Esposito changed everything. From the first call, Krystle made us feel like a priority, exactly what you need when dealing with a potential safety issue. Jonathan arrived within 48 hours, after a long day of emergency calls, yet was calm, patient, and thoroughly professional. He confirmed pricing upfront (so appreciated), tested and retested the system. The CO wasn't detectable on the first visit so he came back, which was incredibly conscientious. He found the reason for the CO on his second visit, and was able to troubleshoot why it was happening. He reviewed the options with us and made sure we understand how to stay safe until we decide on how to fix our system. He really went above and beyond in every way.
Their responsiveness, honesty, professionalism, integrity and the trust they inspired were far superior to anything we experienced with the other companies. We will be using Hartmann & Esposito for anything to do with our natural gas system. They truly know their stuff and provided exceptional service when we needed it most and we won’t be calling anyone else.

Outstanding service from a true professional! Johnny did an absolutely fantastic job diagnosing and fixing our new heating system on Shelter Island. He quickly identified why it wasn’t working properly and repaired it so efficiently that it felt like magic – now it’s running brilliantly! His experience really showed throughout the entire process. He was punctual, arriving exactly on time, and his professionalism was top-notch. On top of his technical expertise, Johnny was also incredibly friendly and pleasant to work with. Highly recommend. It’s rare to find someone who combines skill, reliability, and such a personable approach.

This company came in to replace the 3 way valve on my boiler. A week after completing the job, my boiler started leaking so i had them come in to repair, assuming that the cost would be covered due to the timing of this new issue.. They claimed that the issue was not related to the first job they completed, all though i had never had a leak in the pipes of my boiler and the leak started a week after they completed the first job, and they charged me a diagnostic fee. It was only $100 however, i felt the work should've been guaranteed. I called to dispute the charge, they said a manager would call me back shortly and i never heard back from them. Not very professional and don't seem to respect the relationships with their customers. Bad business, wouldn't use again.

I cannot begin to say enough about this company! My central air died on a hot day. I called them early morning and they came right away. The system was very old and needed to be replaced. I fully expected the usual… we have to order the unit and wait then schedule an install. Well I was wrong…. They said they could have it installed the same day! REALLY SAME DAY!!!! The crew led by Phil was incredible and they were neat and careful with everything. They left everything immaculate. The system is much better than my old unit. On top of all this the price was very fair. It is rare to get this kind of service from a contractor these days. Hartmann’s exceeded my expectations in every way.

I am in NORTHPORT, NY. Like many others I had a horrific experience with this company. I had a small drip of water tank on my toilet. Turns out that 1 of the 2 bolts that holds the water tank to the bowl was leaking. The plumber that was sent didn't have this part on the truck which is unusual because it's a part used on every single toilet bowl ever made. And it's only a $5 part. He needed to go to a store and buy the part. When he came back it took him 15 minutes to replace the part. The entire time he was at my place, including going to the store, was about ONE (1) hour. They charged me $508 plus tax for a total of $585!! $585 for a $5 part and 15 minutes of work is OUTRAGEOUS. And you would think that he would have changed both bolts since they're both old and while the second one that was not bad yet, it would eventually get bad. But no, he only replaced the bad one and left the other one so I'd have to call them back in 6 months and get that one replaced too. I called the office to complain and spoke to a person who identified herself as Crystal. She seemed very concerned about my situation and said that she would look into it and guaranteed me she would call me back within an hour to help rectify the situation. It's now been about 30 hours and I have not heard from her. I don't know why I should have believed her in the first place. ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC, UNPROFESSIONAL, RIPOFF. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.... NEVER NEVER NEVER PS this says that I am in San Francisco, but that is where my ISP is. I am located in the NORTHPORT NY area and that is where this experience occured

I’ve had a lot of people come into my house and try to fix my boiler and fail as well as rip me off.johnny came in early to the appointment fixed the fan switch, primed it,and fixed the squealing.I haven't had heat in awhile and now I have heat because of Johnny.
