I have been using Family Oil for a number of years now after leaving Mar-Gas for many reasons and have been very happy with them. They are very friendly, return your calls in a timely manner and answer any questions you have.
Last year my furnace stopped running at about 11:30PM in the dead of winter, I called the emergency number and left my name and number, I got a call from Chris about 10 minutes later telling me he was just up the road and would be there right away. When he arrived he went straight to work and determined that it was a faulty burner nozzle which he replaced straight away he even left me a spare nozzle just in case. I can't say that I have a whole lot of experience dealing with oil companies, but I like dealing with Family Oil. Their deliveries are always very quick, oil prices are what you'd expect, and the staff is very friendly both in person and over the phone. They are also very responsive to emergency (evening/ weekend) calls. Of course, the only time anyone ever has furnace issues is during evenings and weekends. We've needed them twice and they arrived within 30 minutes. The starting cost to get Family Oil at your house for an emergency off-hours visit is $100, whereas an HVAC company we called starts at $135 for a *scheduled* daytime visit. And I think that's pretty remarkable.
