The overall experience that we’ve had with this place is one that I struggled with deciding to post about however, after dealing with the persistent issue with my cat, I have decided to. This place came recommended to us and I wish that I just honestly stay with the Regular place that we have been bringing our animals to for years. We bought our cat in here to get spayed. We were told everything went well, then noticed she continued to go into heat like symptoms as she did before we called and the woman who answers the phone who has often been rude said she looked at notes and surgery said it went well however we could pay for them to look and see if they left any tissue. We already have paid and wondered why in the world we would have to pay for them to correct their mistake?? We also got bloodwork for her as well I guess they didn’t keep records because when I called for those records and the verification of the cat being spayed I was met with mixed responded and then told I had to come in after I was told I could get them sent. I go into the office and there was the woman at the front desk with a ln employee and she was an absolute rude and borderline aggressive with me, stated they only have a record they spayed her. I then went to put the paperwork away and came back and she was talking with the woman about me saying “oh my God what does she want now”.I was appalled. I then asked them if they could check again because my cat in fact got her bloodwork done there because I was told they were needed to be updated for the procedure Fast forward to us deciding to just take her into the loving facility we normally do which we should’ve just stuck with however they were very busy. Our cat in fact did have a lot of tissue left over. I have never in my life wrote a review like this but I had too. Hopefully if anyone replies as I see they do towards negative reviews here you keep a tone of apologetic compassion that was NOT THERE FROM THE STAFF during our experience

I recently had my cat spayed at Glen Cove Animal Hospital, and I couldn't be happier with the care she received. The staff was incredibly professional, compassionate, and attentive to all our needs. They made sure to explain the entire process and post-surgery care clearly. This place is also a very great option if you are looking for an affordable animal hospital. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great veterinary clinic! Moochi says thank you!!

Did not even get to the point of scheduling a consult because whomever is answering the phone or manning the front desk at this clinic is dense at best or utilizing weaponized incompetence at worst.
I called the get a ballpark estimate for a small surgery for a removal of a 2-3mm small bump that I could not afford to have done at my regular vet in the city. I have blood work and a full breakdown of what needs to be done itemized already with cost estimates at my normal vet, so I was simply calling to get an idea of what that would cost here so I could determine if it was feasible to take him in for a consultation and then for the minor surgery, which has already been determined to be feasible under local anesthesia and sedation.
The woman at the front desk was simply impossible. First, she said that I would need to come in for a consult first at $85. I asked simply for a ballpark estimate of what a procedure like this would cost and explained what was on the itemized list I already had from my regular vet to determine rough pricing, so that I could make an informed decision as to whether a consultation here was wise. She just repeated the same thing over again. I had to explain to her that I was calling around for estimates so I could make an informed decision and it would be counterproductive for me to subject my cat and my wallet to consults at 5 different places simply to get prices. I had already called a number of clinics before calling this one and getting an estimate was a problem for exactly none of them. Everyone got me a quick and reasonable estimate, and explained that I would need to book a consult before the surgery, but they can provide me with an estimated cost of the surgery based on the information I already had so that I could decide. Not the case here at ALL.
This woman spent at least a minute arguing with me as if I was stupid, and had not already received multiple estimates from multiple nearby clinics, acting as though the request in itself was unreasonable. She then told me the procedure was going to be between $1,100-3,000 - a range more than double the cost of all of my other estimates, including our local boutique vet in the heart of the Upper West Side in Manhattan, with exorbitantly high overhead costs!
Any person with a shred of sense would know this could y possibly be the case, however if I was not as informed, I would’ve hung up then and there and never inquired at or recommended this clinic again. Instead, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and read out the handful of services I was looking for a total estimate for. She then, with an attitude, very slowly went line by line, and gave an individual cost for each service at a snail’s pace, as if I was supposed to write them all down and calculate them myself - isn’t it YOUR job to just calculate a rough estimate? Because this was not even remotely a discussion at literally any other clinic I’ve spoken to.
At that point, I decided speaking with this person was an unproductive use of my time, so I asked if I could leave my number and have a doctor call me back in hopes of speaking to a professional with familiarity with the procedure and costs, and (not that I told her this at the time, as I am still unwavering pleasant to those who make their unwillingness to work the client’s problem) to assess if everyone at this clinic behaved in such an inconvenient and unwelcoming manner. If the front desk’s attitude is indicative of how a provider runs their practice, I wouldn’t want to give my business to such a provider anyway.
Well, we didn’t even get that far as she declined to notify the doctor or take my information for a provider to call and discuss. At that point, I determined this to be a massive waste of my time, and elected to get the procedure done elsewhere.
I have truly never had such a strange experience with a vet clinic. Communication is key, so take your pets somewhere that values this, rather than where
