Great experience, very thoughtful and kind and caring staff all the way around. I’ve been going to the vet for years and I highly recommend them. I’ve never had one bad experience.

This is an unethical, shady business that is completely two-faced. Ask people you know about standard visit and vaccine prices. They charge different people different prices for the same vaccine. Upon finding this out, I called to get a standard price for upcoming vaccines for my dog. The lady on the phone said they are not able to give me a price unless I come in. I demanded to know the price, and she once again refused, saying only the doctor can provide it. I told her to ask the doctor because it sounded fishy. She claimed she was unable to ask the doctor in the room next to her how much a rabies and Bordetella vaccine costs. For 15 minutes, I argued with these unethical scammers to get the price of a standard vaccine, which everyone should be charged equally. These people do not care about your pet; they only care about money. They are disgusting. Long Island has many vets--do not come here. Another time, I had bloodwork done for my dog's insurance. Upon asking them to mail me the results in writing for my insurance, they refused because they wanted to bill me for the same bloodwork again. They charge everyone different prices, refuse to give prices over the phone, and if you don't get results and paperwork right away, they will try to dupe you into paying for it again. These people are disgusting and run a super shady practice. I really hope they get their karma one day.

AWFUL VET. they are scammers. i adopted a dog from a shelter and was told i could come to a VCA hospital for a free wellness check so i took my dog the day after we adopted him. well it wasn't free. the checkup was free but according to the lying vet my dog had an ear infection. he put drops in his ears and that cost me $200. free wellness check turned into $200 down. when i brought my dog back to the shelter for a vax booster appt they said they would've never sent him home with an ear infection AND the vet would've given us antibiotics to continue at home for 7 days. the VCA vet didn't offer us any medicine to take home. what kind of ear infection is cured the same day??? they just tried to get $200 out of us and taking advantage of new dog owners who just wanted to do the best for their new pup. DO NOT GO HERE. scamming liars. never coming back here again i don't trust them and you shouldn't either

Been going there since 1998 when I moved to North Bellmore (very close by). I liked the woman who answered the phone and all the drs. Times change and drs came and went but Dr Gross and Dr Thonsen (also the owner) were constants and I was totally confident seeing them. A few years ago Dr Thonsen retired and sold to VCA. VCA is the veterinary equivalent of Northwell. Buying up everything it seems. I have used the Emergency location in Westbury and was very satisfied. Anyway hadn't used them that much as thankfully my dogs have been healthy. But Bruno, 12 y/o Bichon/Poodle mix developed bad diarrhea and was going in the house. Unfortunately we were in FL and my daughter was watching the dogs. She called panicked, and I called VCA EM. Used to be I could get a same day appt no problem. It was maybe 10 am. Got a young woman on the phone and explained the situation. She had a bit of an attitude and asked "When do you want to come in?" Obviously I wanted ASAP. She said I have tomorrow 6:30 PM. I was a little taken aback. When asked when I wanted to come in, that implied (to me at least) that you had openings relatively soon. My dog's sh!tting all over the house! Of course I want him to be seen ASAP! So I said, "You have nothing today?" She said condescendingly, "I SAID I have tomorrow at 6:30." I held my tongue because at that time I didn't know my options. So I brusquely said thanks and hung up. While I was dealing with this rude woman, my wife found the recently opened OATH Animal Hospital also on Newbridge but closer to me. She made an appt. for the same day and my daughter took Bruno to be seen and treated. It wan an experience that will ensure my continued patronage. Dr. Funk was caring and attentive. His treatment soon got Bruno's problem under control and when my wife called, he was pleasant and informative. We received a follow-up call seeing how he was as well as a card, again checking up and welcoming us to the OATH family. After 25 years, goodbye former EMAH, hello OATH!

we have been with east meadow animal hospital for 15 years and it is not the same we brought our 11 year old mixed breed because she was not well, they put her on antibiotics even after we brought her in for vomiting as an emergency the vet an older genteman said she doesn't look so bad weeks we brought her in and they kept giving antibiotics I finally took matters in my own hands and took her to another amergency clinic who did blood work and sonogram and found cancer that already spread I wanted to save her she was our child, she stopped eating and was in pain we had to put her down. My thoughts keep going back that if the vet diagnosed her properly we could have saved her. If you have an older dog think twice before going to them
