Pretty disappointed by our last visit. Brought our dog in for a nail trim and they could not do it. We gave him the recommended prescription to calm him down but they tried and told us it wasn't gonna happen because he was getting agitated. Then we were prescribed another medicine and told to come back another time. I'm sure our dog isn't the first dog to not like his nails done. I we've had the Grooming program at BOCES trim his nails before. Staff is friendly as usual but that was the only positive.

My four-year-old dog Ziva has been a patient there since birth yet today I was blown off and referred to several options in Rochester. "We're too busy," was the response. I did not ask for an emergency visit, but the dog is acting sick and would have settled for an appointment in a few days but I was not even given that option. I was immediately told they were too busy and referred my elsewhere. Is that any way to treat your patients?

This "hospital" is a scam, they use your emotions for an up sell, they offer expensive unnecessary tests, they overcharge for everything, I finally have to have my cat put down and even then, they're talking about 150 dollars for an iv catheter to put my cat to sleep and a combo of medications, like I just fell off a wagon, it's one injection that's all. PRIVATE CREMATION 500, GROUP CREAMATION 430, THEY MAKE IT SO YOU'LL OPT FOR THE PRIVATE CREAMATION (AFTER ALL IT'S CLOSE IN PRICE - CLASSIC UP SALE TACTIC) AND THEY'LL GET THE EXTRA MONEY. They're pirates, and they get away with it. The emergency vets in Rochester are exactly the same, a bunch of assholes that do not care at all about your beloved pet and are looking to separate you from your money when you are most vulnerable. ASK QUESTIONS WHEN YOU GO IN, GET YOUR VACCINES AT TRACTOR SUPPLY (A LOT CHEAPER). AND REMEMBER THIS "YOU ARE WALKING INTO A BUSINESS."

Horrible place. No brains, no courtesy. Can't do vaccines. Not available for even minor problems. Bad attitude. The worst care I have ever received.

all they care about is money they don't take the time to show compassion or examine your animal. They clearly don't care and are very rude

I am officially a fan of Canandaigua Vet Hospital! They were able to accommodate me - a brand new client - within 1 day of my dog experiencing distress. We are new to the area and hadn't decided on a Vet for our dogs yet, but now we will be going to Canandaigua Vet for sure! Dr. James was so sweet and understanding with my old grumpy baby who gets stressed going the Vet as it is, and allowed me to help so my dog would stay as calm and happy as possible while her ouchie was examined. It always helps to have her Momma! Thanks so much to the whole staff at Canandaigua Vet Hospital, and we hope to have a long wonderful relationship there with all our pets.

My mother recently had to put her cat down. Prior he had pretty severe medical issues. The team here kept him alive and well for an additional 2 years. When it came time they were very compassionate. They didn't try to convince my mother, but at the same time assured her that her choice was justified and fair. Even though it was a terrible experience, I immediately realized how much they cared. My puppy has had many infections and my current vet at the time did not think this was abnormal. Dr Smith was immediately concerned and took the time to go over all of her issues and what it could mean. It's going to be a process but I feel assured they will do everything in their power to get her healthy.
