My late uncle was in his nineties and living alone when he started to show early signs of dementia. However, he wanted to be independent. Eventually, a woman with guardianship experience was introduced to him so that he could receive help with his medications and daily activities. Within 4 months of their initial meeting, she convinced him to rewrite his will to include her. She accomplished this by isolating him from his family, conning him into believing that she was not being paid for her services, and telling him that he must make her a beneficiary of his will or she would not be able to keep on caring for him.
