Because of his seminal work in cataract and laser surgery, he was accorded the Innovators Award by the New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame. This award draws from all fields and honors only four scientists each year. Dr. Wong is the first clinical physician to be honored in this manner. His innovation, colloquially called the "Wong Way," has achieved international recognition for making cataract surgery safer. Dr. Wong's research has put him in the forefront in developing the "advanced technology intra-ocular lenses" which treat age-related near vision loss (the ReSTOR IOL) and astigmatism (the toric IOL). He is one of only eight "mentors" country-wide tasked to set standards of care and teach other eye surgeons the nuances of this new tech.

Three of my cousins got lasik here and they all came out perfectly. However, my lasik surgery outcome was not as good. I ended up with coronea erosion in one eye that took almost a year to heal - if I were not already disabled from an injury, it would have put me out of work for a year, because I could not stand lights or a computer or phone glare or sun. I was taking medication that had a side effect of dry eye, but had not had a problem with it yet. The doctor said it would not be an issue. I had Lasik with Dr. Michael Wong many many years ago. It was amazing how well I could see, and how the office staff and Dr. Wong were so attentive. I have been going there every two years for the last few years and basically nothing has changed. The office staff/ assistants are all very pleasant and Dr. Michael Wong is still answering all my questions , and being patient with any concerns that I may have with other eye issues. I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a smart, patient and thorough eye doctor.
Dr. Wong did my LASIK. The experience was top notch - he made me feel at ease, the procedure was quick, and he thoroughly explained everything happening. I highly recommend Dr. Wong.
