Very good company and excellent quality product. United Rockland was brought in by my contractor for 4 new 2-story townhouses with 10' ceilings, so they provided four 10' wide oak stairs with mid landing. Really excellent workmanship, very solid, with select materials, and the cost was, I know from many quotes, as good as it gets, and the quality was much better than expected. Bill was a delight to work with, and his documentation is outstanding. I think they are a good company if you seriously have a project - is my remark after reading the lower scored reviews, all from people that did not actually become customers. They are a high-level stair shop, I understand perhaps the best in their region, and priced fairly, so they are busy. It would make sense to chose their customers as they do the wood they use - selectively. From my experience, and the reviews of people that did get stairs from them, I seriously doubt much of any actual customers have any serious complaints, and it's just that not many left a review here, so they would be surprised by the relatively low score as I was.

Just had the interior rail in my house replaced replaced by these guys. The installer did a great job, answered all my questions and was neat and professional. I realize most of their work is for Contractors and I felt lucky to go directly to the source rather than them being a subcontractor to a GC. I had to make an appointment to visit the showroom with photos of my house and meet with a salesman to get an estimate. It was well worth the effort. I was able to see real life samples rather than look at photos. 1st class work at a fair price. Highly recommend them.

The pros: I was a walk-in and was still provided service, despite not knowing to make an appointment. The individual I worked with did a nice job at looking at the pictures of my stairs, listening to what my needs were financially, and showing me different styles on display. He came up with an estimate and said to email if I had any questions or want to make any changes.The cons: I followed up with an email about 2-3 weeks later on a weekend when they were closed. (I was looking for a different style and possible ways to decrease cost to save money.) I got a response Monday morning to resend photos and that he’d be happy to help. I sent photos that same day… no response back. Sent an email again that same week… no response. I called 3 times and the individual was never there at the time, but a message was taken each time for him to call me back. I even asked if there was another person who could deal with my situation so I could move forward with getting my stairs done, but that didn’t happen. I never heard back from the man I worked with or the company. I was very disappointed because it seemed so promising to start. Lovely people… poor communication.

I've been buying stairs from them for over 20 years they've always have professional service competitive pricing and delivered when they said they were going to deliver I voted three sets of stairs from them in the past 2 months All great quality great craftsmanship and on time can't ask for anymore I only gave four stars because hey everyone can improve

My husband contacted and spoke to one of the men in their sales department for a quote on three separate occasions and never got a response. Very unprofessional and unreliable. I would NOT recommend them.
