Worst accountant. Found out in Jly of 2020, after receiving a letter from the IRS, that my mothers taxes for 2018 weren't filed. When I called to ask what was needed to complete it, he said by the way 2016 and 2017 weren't filed. For 6 months I tried asking him to give me a list of what he needed to file them. I asked in Jan21 to return all paperwork so I could file them. In the meantime he filed the 2019 return, which in Jly 21 he called to tell me his assistant found a letter from the IRS dated Mar21 in another clients paperwork, stating income wasn't reported and an amended return needed to be done. When I asked him why it wasn't reported, he said he didn't have the info. Turns out he had the info because he reported income that was on the same 1099 with both amounts on it. (the 1099 with both figures were in the paperwork he returned) He also filed the 2016, 2017, 2018 in Jly21 without my permission and left out 1 of my mothers main source of revenue and understated the real estate taxes paid. Totally unprofessional and incompetent! (Also he had the nerve to send me a bill for those years that I didn't ask him to do and charged my 94 yr old mom 3x the amount for the incorrect 2019 return which she paid) 0 stars!

After submitting my tax documents in February, he still had not finished my returns in June. As a result, for the first time ever, we paid significant fines for being late. No explanation and no apology. Completely unprofessional.

I have been working with Elliot for over 10 years. He does my personal and business taxes and now does taxes for my friends and family members. When I started my business 11 years ago I had no idea how to handle the accounting or taxes and Elliot patiently walked me through how to categorize my expenses, what I should claim, what should go with business/personal etc. He is always readily available to answer a quick question or sit down to work out a complicated issue. I still laugh that several years ago he fought the state to get me extra money I was entitled to - I joke that I never had someone fight so hard for $10 for me! I highly recommend contacting Elliot for all of your tax needs.

I have an accountant, been using him for 20 years and probably am not switching. But when I needed an expert in a particular tax issue, Elliot knew the answer.. the accountant's accountant! If you are looking for a new accountant, I highly suggest contacting Elliot: if not make sure you keep his number in your contacts: you might need him.
