I can’t say enough about how wonderful the Emerson Health and Rehab Center is. My mom went into the Emerson a year and a half ago after she broke her hip and her dementia got very bad. As her only daughter it was so hard for me to make the decision to put her In a long term care home. From the very beginning the Emerson made me feel comfortable with the place I chose for my mom. She was put on 2 north, which is the unit that cares for people who need memory care. The head of the department, a sweet caring nurse named Flavia made me feel like my mom was in the best hands and always takes the time to talk to me about any questions or concerns I may have. She actually has taken the time to make sure I was ok and given me advice on how I need to take time and try to enjoy my little grandson and family. I don’t know what I would do without her. Another wonderful nurse on that floor is Rodney, who is a very caring individual who makes me feel welcome whenever I call (which is everyday to talk to my mom). Rodney can always make me smile. There are many other staff that I have not mentioned that have given my mom wonderful care and I will be forever grateful. Thank you all.
The therapy is superb. I've been going there for many years for rehab. The facility is a little dowdy, the food mediocre, the staff varied in its' response, but there are some excellent care-givers there & you can't beat the therapists. It is far superior to other rehab facilities where I have been. Count on it!
