First off, the FD uses AI to book appointments, this one lady is always rude and sounds in a rush whenever she answers the phone. I am really upset with this office because my dog who passed away recently had been dealing with limping and was very uncomfortable. They thought it was a different issue. When we took him to the ER , we followed up with them again and they only followed what the ER said by giving him meds. Dr. Sass did not recommend doing some type of cancer screening or nothing. We had asked for when we first noticed him having lumps, she believed it was fatty lumps, some of them were but didnt bother testing. The ER showed more care and kept following up with us more than his actual vet. Unfortunately my dog got worse and had to put him down, couldnt walk and dying. He was unable to eat and drink water. After all that we knew it cancer, he was gone within a week. A month later they decided to have the audacity to call and ask how he was doing and if we still needed meds from them. Clearly its the money they care about. If Dr. Sass didn't know what to do she could have been direct with me and tell me there nothing else she could do. We had hope thinking it was IVDD because those were the similar symptoms he had. I understand that there wasn't a cure but it all happened so fast , we could have been prepared for this months before this occurred if we had known earlier that he had cancer. Everytime I called them to followup and ask them questions, they would keep me on hold 10-15 minutes and when I had to hang up they didn't bother calling back. My mom would call and they would keep her waiting too. When I would leave a message they would text me instead of calling back after I asked to give me call because I had more questions. They were only neglecting and weren't clear on the possibilities of what it was. Not until he passed we automatically knew it was cancer.

Where do I begin? My dog went in for a dental cleaning which turned into a medical procedure for extracted teeth; no big deal. Post op the care was good, but the medication prescribed to my dog gave him such a violent stomach issue where he would have blood just pouring out of his rear end every 10 minutes, had zero appetite, and threw up constantly. I continued to follow up with the office for medications and treatment and they provided it, but refused to acknowledge the medication side effects that were pointing to this being the main cause of his issues (Carprofen was the medication for the record).

After the dog had an abysmal day of vomiting, leaking blood out of his backside, and no eating (after being given medication to treat this specific issue), we gave it the night to see if time would heal him. The following day was not much better. I called the office at 2 pm to follow up with the doctor regarding his condition, but they would not transfer me to the doctor, only to the assistant who never identified herself as only the assistant. She ended our conversation with “let me speak to the doctor” and put me on hold for 10 minutes to then return back and say she would call me back shortly. An hour passed with no call and so I called again in case we needed to come back in and the front desk representative said that she would call me back later a second time (his condition did not improve by any means at this point and my concerns continued to grow). An hour and a half passed once again with no call so I called at 4:45, which is 15 minutes before closing for the day just to speak with the doctor regarding my concerns. I was immediately put on hold by the front desk representative once she picked up. After 10 minutes on hold she then tells me there is nothing the doctor can do and that the they close in 15 minutes and I would need to go to a local pet emergency room for further care. Again, I did not speak to the doctor after 3 calls to the office at this time. She continued by saying that they wouldn’t have been able to fit my dog in regardless as they were “so busy” but they were able to fit us in the day prior due to the same exact conditions my dog was experiencing. I told her how it’s unacceptable I get told 3 hours later that you couldn’t tell me these things, but instead I wasted my time. I also find it hard to believe that they could not at the very least see my dog and take care of him as HE GOT SICK AFTER A PROCEDURE THEY PERFORMED within those 3 hours. The failure of accountability is so disgusting that they would rather push the dog off to the next care provider because it seems they don’t want to see the dog in the 3 hours they had, or frankly they didn’t know what to do!

I’m extremely disappointed in this facility for the way they handled the issues he has been experiencing and pushing us off to an emergency room for more than 5x the cost. Thank you for failing your patient, I don’t think you’ll be seeing us again.

They came recommended by a family friend and they did such a great job helping out our family cat. Super communicative, very supportive and overall an excellent place to bring out animals too.

Excellent services and follow up by Dr Sass the technician and office. Great experience overall. I was so nervous about having my 14 year old mini poodle going under but these people made my anxiety disappear. I can’t say enough good about this vet.

This was one of the most disturbing and unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had with a veterinary office. We’ve been taking our dog here for a few years. We called to request a short gap refill for our 15-year-old chihuahua’s collapsing trachea medication, since she already had an appointment scheduled in just a few days. The front desk staff member, Patty, refused, claiming the medication is a controlled substance and that we hadn’t brought our dog in “frequently enough.” While I completely understand these policies I had questions and that’s when she became deeply combative. What made this worse is that this medication requires monthly refill calls (I’ve been swinging by the office monthly to grab it with no issues), and during this call it became obvious that the office themselves had not realized how long it had been since our last visit until I reminded them—after which their tone suddenly became hostile and accusatory. Our pharmacist was literally shocked and explained that our dog weighs 5 pounds, the dose is extremely low, and it is incapable of affecting a person. Yet we were treated like criminals simply for trying to prevent our elderly dog from suffering or potentially collapsing without her medication for several days. When my partner said it felt cruel to force our senior dog to go without medicine, Patty laughed and became confrontational. During the next exchange she said, “I don’t know who that guy is—your husband or boyfriend or whatever.” I immediately told her that my relationship is none of her business and that he is my partner. The fact that our relationship was even brought into a medical discussion was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. After requesting a call back from the veterinarian, instead of receiving a professional phone call, I received an angry, threatening text message directly from the doctor, accusing us of threatening staff and warning that we would be dismissed from the practice—without ever speaking to us about what actually happened. There was zero empathy, zero professionalism, and zero concern for our senior dog’s wellbeing. The level of hostility from both the front desk and the veterinarian was shocking. We immediately transferred care to another veterinarian who treated us with kindness, professionalism, and urgency. The contrast was night and day. I do not trust this practice with any animal’s care. I strongly caution members of the LGBTQ+ community to exercise awareness. And no pet owner should ever be treated this way during a medical emergency involving an elderly, vulnerable animal. Formal complaints have been filed with: • The Better Business Bureau • The New Jersey Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners This review is written to protect other pet owners.(I posted a screen grab of the text I received from the doctor on their google page so the public can be the judge of the professionalism of their doctor)
