I purchased a new home from D.R. Horton, and unfortunately I am extremely disappointed. None of the promises they made were kept, and the construction quality is far below what was expected.
They used very cheap and low-quality materials throughout the house. The paint literally comes off when I touch the walls with my hand. We have been living in the home for only 3–4 months, and there are already multiple construction-related issues.
My lawn did not grow properly. They told me they would replace it, but nothing has been done. The interior doors are also very poor quality and easily damaged.
I regret buying a home from D.R. Horton, and I do not recommend anyone to purchase a home from them. I am considering taking legal action because the workmanship and customer service have been extremely disappointing.

This company hires very dishonest employees to represent them. I purchased a Home for them, a little over a year ago. When I went to see the model, I was very specific about the questions I asked. The property had a runoff in the back that was filled with overgrown weeds. I specifically asked if the area would be cleared by closing, and I was told yes. During the walk through, not only was the area not cleared but I was told they don’t do that. While walking through the model, I admired the floors. My realtor and I both asked if the floors were vinyl planks, because if not that would be a deal breaker. We were told yes. Then I asked, will I have the same floors in my house, again told yes. After being in the house for about a year, I found that the floors are just a cheap linoleum that looks like wood planks. Why not be honest with your buyers. To the selling agent and HR Horton, God does not like ugly or dishonestly and you will pay for all the people you have swindled. God bless you.

Any new construction will have some sort of issues. Roy Denning came to address them and he’s a man of his words. He addressed them professionally, he wrote work orders with dates of completion and gave me a copy of each order. I am happy to say my issues are resolved.
