Truly a wonderful experience. Every single person I encountered was so helpful, knowledgeable, and you could tell had a serious love for animals. I accidentally got the date wrong of the appointment and they still fit me in, which was truly so kind. I felt like they helped me establish a solid plan to help with my kitten’s tummy issues. They were super informative about food options too. Looking forward to bringing my other cats there in the future!

Very pleasant environment and people. They took very good care of a kitten/cat that had wandered into my life.

This was one of the most uncomfortable, unprofessional & expensive veterinary visits I’ve ever had in my over 30 years of being a pet owner….

From the moment the veterinarian Dr. Mcke entered the room, the interaction felt awkward and dismissive. I was trying to explain my dog’s symptoms, but it felt like pulling teeth to get clear or direct answers. Most of my questions were met with vague responses, and at times it felt like information was being made up on the spot rather than explained confidently or based on established veterinary knowledge. Even the vet tech had to step in to move the appointment along by suggesting we place my dog on the exam table.

The most frustrating moment was when I brought up yeast and fat tissue in dogs. Yeast overgrowth is a well-documented contributor to allergies and skin issues and can be influenced by diet, particularly sugar intake. The veterinarian flatly told me I was wrong. Less than two minutes later, he referenced yeast as a contributing factor himself, then immediately dismissed it again when I pointed out the contradiction. That alone made it hard to trust anything else being said.

After the appointment, I independently confirmed through multiple reputable sources that my understanding was correct.

To make matters worse, when I checked out, I realized I had not even been seen by the veterinarian I originally scheduled with and had seen previously. The office scheduled me with a different doctor without informing me, yet I was still charged the full exam fee. Given the lack of useful information, poor communication, and being seen by the wrong provider, that felt inappropriate.

When I calmly yet firmly explained my concerns to the front desk staff, the response was unprofessional as well. The staff member became visibly flustered, stood up mid-conversation, and walked into the back without addressing the issue.

Lastly, as the veterinarian was leaving the room, he referred to me as “sweetheart.” Please stop addressing women clients this way. It is dismissive, unprofessional, and inappropriate in a medical setting.

Overall, this experience was disappointing, disorganized, and left me feeling unheard and dismissed. I expect clear communication, professionalism, and accurate information when it comes to my pet’s health, and unfortunately this visit fell short on fronts .. I would recommend going elsewhere. This location is not any more affordable than other clinics, and you can find closer options to Asheville that offer significantly better professionalism and care.

I bright my two dogs in for separate visits, Scotch and Raylan, for two very different needs.

The nurses were amazing and the two veterinarians I saw were very professional, loving, and focused on solutions so these two fur babies could be their best selves.

After spending nearly 10 years at the same vet whom I loved (and only changed because I moved), finding the team at Apple Valley has been a major blessing.

Foxy was very well treated, the doctor was very informative. Obviously everyone cares about the animals so we have confidence in your practice.

Such a drama filled first appointment but you guys made it as easy as possible and we're so grateful. I'm sure Ellie May will be excited to go back.

I came from a veterinarian practice that would sooner handcuff you to the door than allow you to leave without paying first. I had only brought my mobile phone with me to my appointment yesterday as I usually don't carry my actual cards with me anywhere anymore. I told the young lady at the desk that I'd call her with my actual card and information. I was given a smile and a "that's no problem". No national guard and no hand cuffs. Ha ha! That was only part of my wonderful experience at Apple Valley. From start to finish it was just a great visit for Buddy and me. Thank you all so very much!

Do not go there if you actually want to see a licensed vet! They only use their techs for everything but surgery. 3 visits for an ear infection! 400.00 , just to shoot antibiotics in her ear, then to be told I would have to make an appointment to actually talk to the vet. What a joke . Will never go back there ! They just want your money cha ching
