There were no time gaps, everything was done in a timely manner without unnecessary delays. The tile selection was a bit limited but everybody worked really hard to get me exactly what we wanted. I have been fortunate to have built 8 homes in over 30 of my 63 years of life. As such, I believe my experience in reviewing Schumacher Homes is validated. Let me begin by commenting on the state of the industry as a whole from inception, supply chains and working with the direct contractor, his sub-contractors, to superiors. You should expect that the inception and planning process of designing, choosing of materials will be unbelievably easy and enjoyable. I chose Schumacher Homes because I am now a disabled Veteran from the US Navy. In past construction projects I've built, I was intricately involved in every aspect of the construction from architectural plans to closing and the keys in hand to the front door. With Schumacher Homes, you are delegating many aspects of the build. That is not necessarily a negative. Some of the problems I ran into was a part of the COVID pandemic. Supply chains were under extremely delayed timelines, intermittently. Despite that the close high-touch relationship I was able to develop with my team in Greensboro was nothing short of joyful. If this is your first home I would strongly encourage you hire an attorney to review your contract. That way you are not presented with any unexpected surprises. My review here can be summarized by stating every builder within the Schumacher Homes system has different personalities. Make sure you feel unquestionably comfortable with the contractor assigned to your build. Now that my home has closed there were a few things that needed to be corrected. I was very fortunate to have built substantial relationships with the chain of action building my home. Management was a pure delight to communicate and work. I only had one blip with one of the people in the construction chain. But that was quickly resolved. Also, my Contractor, Chris Craddock was one of the most respectful, easy to communicate with from start to finish. Christine Larson, Rock Bain and Matt Reisma made me feel as though my satisfaction was critically important for them to insure. To go even further, I feel as though I built friendships with a handful of the aforementioned people during this very sensitive project. My homesite sits on just under 37 acres. So there were multiple mini-projects from tree clearance/site preparation, septic system, well to name just a few. This isn't necessarily what you'd have to do. Schumacher will do almost everything. This is one of the reasons you chose a company like Schumacher Homes. So what problems might occur? For me, there was only one glitch with one of the sub-contractors whose employees were unpleasant, unprofessional and unquestionably the worst element of my experience. That company's name was BuiltSmart. Were it not for my engagement with the management level officers of the Greensboro office and corporate offices of Schumacher Homes, was I able to achieve a modicum of satisfaction. Now, clearly and candidly there are circumstances that are unpleasant about a built from scratch home. I am a very fair and honest in my reviews. I encourage you to look at other reviews I've made here on Google to give you a measurement of my integrity. Finally, let it be known that Schumacher Homes is an excellent choice for you to build your new home whether you are a novice or pro! As with all aspects of one of your largest lifelong investments, it is essential that you do have to be cognizant and involved through the various phases of your project. why only 4 Stars? Until all of the punchlist items are resolved and I have past my first year check-in with the warranty with the builder would I be able to change my review, add additional content regarding Schumacher Homes in Greensboro. Schumacher Homes of Greensboro did a great job building my new home. While other builders would not even return calls when requested to submit a proposal Schumacher responded within an hour. Schumacher's staff was excellent to work with and accommodated most all requests while keeping my budget in mind. The construction process is detailed and efficient and my new home was actually completed ahead of schedule. The general contractor is a great guy, very knowledgeable and has been building homes for many years. My experience working with Schumacher was far better than a previous home that I had built. Schumacher demonstrated their goal of building a quality home. I highly recommend the Schumacher Team in Greensboro, NC.

We recently had Schumacher Homes of Greensboro build our dream home, and could not be more pleased! Everyone we worked with was so kind and personable. From the initial meeting with Kevin who helped guide us in the right direction and let us know of budget saving options for us that still accomplished our "must have" list which we truly appreciated. That hospitality is rare these days where people who are in the sales industry have your best interest in mind. Everyone at the office we worked with (Carolyn, Christine, & Rock) was great. They were all very responsive and always made sure we knew what was going on. David was our builder, and we could not have been more pleased, our home was built in 5 months, which was simply amazing! David communicated with us multiple times a week throughout the build so we always knew what was happening on a daily basis. David genuinely cares about the homes he builds and treats them as his own. You can tell he truly enjoys what he does and has found what he excels at. David went above and beyond for us, down to having a few roofing shingles replaced post closing that were not "perfect" that we would have never noticed.
