Dr. Burk was compassionate, non-judgmental, and exceptionally knowledgeable throughout the entire experience. She truly cares from the perspective of a pet parent, taking the time to explain every option clearly including treatment plans and costs so we could make informed decisions and decide best course for our family. She checks in often and is always open to questions or concerns, which made an incredibly difficult time feel much more manageable.
Over the years, I’ve had pets with complex medical needs, including a cat with early kidney failure and another with severe heart complications and frostbite (stray) and I have worked with many veterinarians. I can honestly say I have never experienced a more caring, supportive, and dedicated vet.

Horrible. I used to go to this vet when I was younger with my parrots for care. They had an exceptional avian vet. I took my older cat there due to a broken teeth we noticed and was lectured, and insulting behind my back outside the vet door. The female doc vet was talking smack about me stating “can you believe she hasn’t taken her cat to the vet for years” to her entire staff when I had clearly stated I didn’t remember her last vet because I had moved so many times. The judgement and Karen like lecturing was a very hostile environment. For the sake of my cat I kept calm and then saw a bill for tooth extraction etc and I asked is that absolutely necessary she literally said no but that it was recommended. The bill? Well over 2 grand. We moved to a house and now see a vet clinic in our areas for our two dogs and cat and do not get judged or mocked for not knowing certain things about animal care. Our bills are always reasonable and they always push the cost effective way even when our dogs need antibiotics they make sure to get it the cheap way. Your clinic is horrible with sub par service and that vet needs a lesson in judgment . No one wants to be vulnerable and take their pets in just to be scorned and met with hostility. Oh and this happened in year 23 and I still remember it so now I’m writing a review

After the surgery three years ago my fur baby had dental work and ever since he makes a noise either they did something cause before his surgery he did sound like he has since the surgery they are blaming and saying it reversed breathing. Then tell me why he didn't have it before? Now he does.

Think twice before bringing your pets here.
After years of trusting SH with all three of my dogs, I reached out about sedated grooming, requested an estimate, and asked why the service was so expensive. Instead of an explanation, I was told, “You are more than welcome to go elsewhere.”
That single comment said everything I needed to know. I’ll be taking my pets — and my business — somewhere that values loyalty, compassion, and respect.

The customer service is mediocre and their prices are exorbitant! They charge you without discussing it before hand what they are charging for and cheaper alternatives! I will be finding another vet.

I could not recommend this vet enough. They are the most thoughtful, kind, patient, and very knowledgeable group of drs I’ve ever met. The front desk staff is phenomenal same goes for the clinic staff. You can tell they all love their job. Thank you South Hyland for being so good to my pups over the years!

My pup, Sophie, loved her visit to South Hyland Pet Hospital! Everyone was so nice and gave her so much attention! It was encouraging to see how much everyone enjoys what they do there. The vet talked through multiple subjects for Sophie's care and training with me and they were super helpful! Thank you South Hyland Pet Hospital for keeping my pup happy and healthy!
