About Sharkey's Cuts For Kids
Sharkey's Cuts for Kids provides a unique and enjoyable haircut experience for children. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming, with themed vehicles such as a firetruck, police cruiser, and race car for kids to sit in while watching their favorite shows on Netflix. Experienced and patient stylists work with kids to make them feel comfortable, even on their first haircut. The waiting area is comfortable and quiet, allowing parents to reassure their children. The staff is super nice, and the place is meticulously clean. The stylists are honest and educate parents, putting their best interest in mind. Kids can play video games while getting their hair cut. Alyssa and Esther were amazing and did exactly what was wanted for the boys' hair, including a wash and blowout. Sharkey's Cuts for Kids is an awesome place for kids to get a haircut, with many fun distractions to make the experience enjoyable.
UPDATE: Had a good conversation with manager Alyssa who discussed my concerns and will work with corporate to ensure this doesn't arise again. I prepared all day to bring my 2 year old grandson here. I know how he gets when his routine changes so I prepped his visit with a step-by-step video on how the haircut would happen, took his favorite juice cup and iPad. I promised that they would get no soap or water in his eyes and explained that he'd get balloon AND a lolipop afterwards.We had a 5:00pm appointment with Kari. When we got there he was so excited! My exciteme6slowly deflated when I realized that Kari was unfamiliar with how to cut African American hair. She stated, if I wanted it bald all over, she could do that.... HUH? He's 2 and it's 21 degrees outside. Why would I want my baby BALD? She proceeded to ask the other lady if she could cut it and was told no. Why in 2026 are we not all inclusive! Why do you have professional barbers who aren't trained in ALL hair types? Why do I have to wait until Sunday because "We have a girl that cuts this type hair"..... WHAT!? I'm extremely disappointed and I'm not letting my frustration end with this review. Someone from Sharkey's owes me an explanation especially when there's nothing on the website that notifies me that I need to make a "special" appointment due to my grandsons hair texture! Kari was very apologetic and she made sure my grandson left with a lollipop and balloon.

Alyssa did amazing! I brought my 2yr old daughter in today for her first hair cut and she was patient and so sweet to my baby. she asked me before any of the fancy bits to make sure it was ok (glitter spray, doing her nails, a lollipop, and a ring!) we just got a trim but her hair looks so much neater and I'm so happy with the results!
