My aunt's funeral was at the DC location about 6 years ago. The only way I knew it was her was because the program said it was. Poor make-up that made her two shades darker than she really was. For this location (District Heights) I am waiting to hear what time the funeral service is for my loved one's funeral WHICH IS THIS WEEK. She is the dear friend of my grandma. Unfortunately, I am not planning the funeral and my offers to help the family have been declined. Pope has been around forever. Let me say, it started out great, but it took a turn for the worse when someone else stepped in. I will never ever use them again. I would never ever recommend them to any family that needs funeral services. They have exacerbated our grieving process. They are not responsive. They do not follow through with what they say they are going to do, AND we had to jump in to handle communications with ANC to have our loved one buried. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. They hold things up without telling you what they are waiting for; things like paperwork, payments, etc. If you need death certificates, you will have to stay on top of them. First of all my deepest sympathy on your loss. Good service at Pope is about 50/50. It all depends on who is serving you. If it's someone other than Ms. Williams you may receive very good, friendly compassionate service and proper treatment of your loved ones remains.If its her her the service will be subpar. The body will be disfigured, not slightly resembling your family member. She will do absolutely nothing for you except to say hello. She and other lady barely spoke to us. They didn't know how to setup the video, failed to to turn on the mike and light next to the podium. We had to figure out everything for ourselves.
