My family have been with Dr. Shick for more than 5 years and he is the best dentist. Super efficient, professional and knowledgeable. I did my cleaning, cavity filling and night guard all from him. Strongly recommend!!

The doctor is a nice guy and does the cleanings himself so he’s very efficient however the last time I went i was told i had potentially 6 cavities which is surprising since 6 months prior at the last cleaning he told me everything looked perfect. I went to get a second opinion and was told I didn’t need any fillings at all.

I have been to Dr. Shick for a few dental issues. He works very precisely and efficiently but still puts me at ease. I’ve been very satisfied with the dental care I’ve received here.

Mysel Mr and my husband have been with Dr. Shick since he started practicing. He also sees our kids now. He has always been professional, on time, concise. He made great referral for braces assessment for the kids also. Deana, his “right hand man” has been with him forever and they certainly are the perfect tag team. She know dental insurances inside and out. Honestly they feel like a part of my family. Highly recommend!

My experience with this place was totally weird, and pretty bad. I switched to them in 2018 since I was new in Medford and looking for a new dentist. I had been going to another dentist previously, one in Cambridge. Dr Shick used my insurance to take full-mouth x-rays and did a full examination. They told me fairly casually that I needed to have 9 teeth drilled and 3 others get crowns. For those who don't know, getting crowns is a very expensive operation which also involves decimating the existing tooth into just a stub. It's really invasive and not something that should be recommended lightly. They said all of this was going to cost me several thousand dollars, even after insurance paid what they would. I was crushed and didn't know what to do. Fortunately someone recommended another dentist to me to get a second opinion. I asked Dr Shick to give me the X-rays he took so the other dentist could look at them. He sent me a very small, very pixelated digital file of all the X-rays in one image. The new dentist told me it was too small to see anything or make any recommendations. I called Dr Shick's office repeatedly to try to get the actual originals from them, but I was never able to. I went to their office and they gave me an envelope of the X-rays, which turned out to just be a print out of the exact same pixelated digital image on regular printer paper. I guess they had thrown out the originals or something. Because Dr Shick had already billed the insurance, though, my insurance would not cover new X-rays. Fortunately, the new dentist I was getting a second opinion from took a few X-rays anyway, on the house. The new dentist told me that I needed to get 2 teeth drilled, and that they really didn't think I needed the other 7, or the 3 crowns. The new dentist seemed almost perplexed, like they couldn't possibly understand how Dr Shick could have come to the conclusions he did. I did those 2 recommended fillings, and I never went back to Dr Shick. 4 years later, no other dentist has yet told me I needed those crowns, and I fortunately still have my natural teeth.I don't know what happened here, but it was a really bad experience and almost cost me lots of money, plus my natural teeth. I'm very fortunate I found my new dentist instead and did not trust Dr Shick's extreme advice. I would have just said that this was due to just different opinions of different dentists, but it's so extreme to recommend so many crowns, and the mishandling of the X-rays makes me even more suspicious. It almost seemed like some kind of weird scam or something I honestly would recommend to anyone to stay far away from this place.

If I can give them zero start I would, there all are not professional at all. First thing happened I was already have my new FMX , and he took one more when I went there for just doing some money , and he took it without my permission. FMX is only taking every 4 years because is the radiation that can cause cancer. I know I was complaining about specific area you can just take one X-ray for this area not taking a FMX . After the examination I have been told that I need 9 filling. I checked with others two dentist and didn’t need that much filling . Also , I’m a dental hygiene student and working as a dental assistant. I definitely didn’t did my filling ,and went to other Dentist. And guess what happened , when I request my X-rays. They didn’t send it out to my new dentist, it’s really something not taking a second to send it over. Also because I was keep calling them to send my X-rays over they not respond to my phone number anymore, and when I tried different number they answer. finally they send my x-ray when I told them that this’s against patients right and I'm going to do a complain in the dental board. Stay away from that office they just try to ido money and take advantage from you .

You don’t have to be afraid of the dentist anymore. Paul’s practice takes all the bad parts out. He respects your time and is always ready on time for your appointment, works efficiently, is kind and genuinely interested in his clients. Regarding Covid, he goes the extra mile to protect himself and his customers. If you’re looking for a new dentist practice, this is your guy.

The doctor is very professional, very knowledgeable.He is up to date with the latest procedures and techniques. He takes his time and explains things so as you can understand. Staff is friendly and accommodating. I would recommend without any reservation. Dr Ray Murano Medford
