Very calm and beautiful areaVery very old graves/tombstonea, found one dating 1700s love the various trees and labelingFoilage is ok but theres quite of variety of plant, even stumbled by a honey beeTower is cool, oversees the cityFree entry and parking not to bad (have to park on the road paths)
The most beautiful cemetery I will ever see. The atmosphere is so somber and yet peaceful. We walked an hour and barely covered 40% of the place. The graves are stunning to look at. There’s also so many different kind of flora and birds like eagles and turkeys you don’t see in public places. There’s a tower from where you can see the Boston skyline which closes at 6 pm sadly we missed it. The place closes at 8 pm. There’s no picnicing or pets allowed. It’s a must see in Boston even if cemeteries are not your thing!
You don't expect yourself to be raving about a cemetery to your family and friends, but after a leisurely stroll through the Mount Auburn Cemetery and Arboretum you'll be doing just that.Stop by the chapel at the gates for a map of resting places of famous/historical people and a sense at the scope of the place. You could spend most of your day here if you wanted.
