Hands down, the best Bjj gym I’ve ever trained at. Traveling around the country for work, I’m often at a gym for 3-4 months before going to a new one. These guys are a cut above the rest. Highly recommend Wayne and his group at SMAA.
Tough and talented room. Wayne gave us some great details when we are in a shallow half guard while someone is working a knee slice with an under hook. We learned how to trap their under hook and invert with an arm lock. Then, follow up with a gable grip on the opposite arm and elbow, followed up with a triangle trap that was tight like a tiger. Oh, don't forget to wrist lock. Dope details. Dope instructor.
If you've ever thought about starting jiu-jitsu or wanted to try out a new gym, then this is the place to be. I can't imagine training anywhere else. I started with zero experience and everybody has welcomed me with open arms(and then they would slowly close it around my neck forcing me to tap). It truly is an awesome place with amazing instructors. My kids have started training and they can't be happier. They're having a blast while also putting in some serious work in. I highly recommend SMAA whether it's your first time or if you are a high level belt.
