Brooke, as always, is so wonderful. She always asks lots of questions to nail down my goals for my visit and executes perfectly. Always a vibe. Always lets me pick a VHS to watch. I also met Forest today which was very cool. We bonded over the Goonies. TYA is the most wonderful place. It's a safe space that always delivers in all the ways that are important. Also conveniently located in a space that is connected to a restaurant that offers great food and cocktails and across the street from a bomb coffee shop. Best salon ever and you can enjoy good food/beverages during your visit! 💕
This was my first time at Young American and I couldn’t be happier. I tried 3 other salons in Crown Point over the last 2 years and couldn’t find someone who really listened to me and did what I wanted. When I first called, I spoke with one of the owners, Forrest. I told him what I was looking for and by ideal budget and he knew exactly who should do my hair.

I always see Brooke when I visit TYA and would recommend her a thousand times over! I never know exactly what I want to do with my hair, but she’s always patient with me and offers suggestions and ideas to help me figure out exactly what we’re going to do with it. Her bubbly personality and the fact that she’s so kind and easy to talk to make sitting in her chair for long periods of time enjoyable. She also shampoos like no other and I swear to god she got rid of a migraine washing my hair one time lbvs.
