Dr. Mary Ubatuba is great. The new vet Dr. Brian Johnston is great. The techs and receptionists are kind and efficient and knowledgeable.

I have been here with 2 cats, my sister/brother in law’s very old and very sick cat who they treated extremely well. I saw this first hand when I was cat sitting and he needed to take the cat in. They helped him (and his “brother”) live a long comfortable life even after they got ill - and my SIL said they were gentle and wonderful when it was time to put them down.

When I moved to the Downers Grove area I switched my vet care for my cat to Abbeywood. My cat has some serious chronic conditions and developed a new one more recently. Both Drs. Ubatuba and Johnston were fine with my not wanting to spend a lot of time and money to intensively treat the intestinal cancer we suspected. Instead, he gets care to prevent bladder stones, medicine for his thyroid, and added a steroid for his suspected intestinal cancer - reduced the inflammation, increased his comfort and has given him another happy year so far (they did not force me into expensive tests, surgery or chemo since he’s an old cat). They would have done the tests if I had wanted to know definitively what was causing my cat’s misery - and treated if we wanted to do that.

Abbeywood’s team is really attuned to what you need and as far as I can tell, technically great (getting blood and urine samples from my cat has never been easy).

Can’t say enough good about them.

It was very good. I'm first time patient. I had Dr. Johnson. Very friendly. Very informative. Definitely made me feel at ease.

We've been to a lot of vets over the years and Abbeywood is my favorite. The staff is super friendly and easy to work with. They are thorough without being high pressure and never try to sell you extra things. I like that they are exclusively a cat vet practice. So many vets seem to only truly care about dogs but here you are going to get vets and staff that really love your cats.

Wonderful, genuine, caring, knowledgeable doctors and staff. I would give 10 stars if that was a choice.

It is a close location to where I live. The staff was very nice. I made an appointment and I was immediately seen upon arrival. My cat needed a basic wellness exam and some annual shots. The shots were competitive to Vetco’s prices. The annual shots and basic wellness exam would have been like around $208. I had my cat get bloodwork done. You can definitely tell the staff really cares about the cats. I would recommend. Prices overall are reasonable without insurance, not insanely overpriced like Vetco’s pet hospital.

The doctors and techs here are amazing. I feel like they really understand cats. Other vets I have been to seemed more scared of my cat than I would expect.

My cat Louis has been cared for so wonderfully by everyone at this cat clinic. Both DVM’s are outstanding and all the vet techs really love working with felines. He’s had major dental work to minor grooming and nail clipping and everything is always first rate. Best cat vets in Dupage County!

This clinic/family of Vets and staff are just amazing. I have been going to them for years with my cats and I have never once been disappointed in their care, friendliness and compassion for my cats and even me. This is the place to go if you want what is best for your cat baby. They deliver the good news and sometimes the bad in the best way possible and you really feel like your cat is special in every which way. I could go on and on of how much I have appreciated all of their support over the years. I would HIGHLY recommend them. They are fairly priced and your cat get the best care ever.

I noticed my cat wasn’t really eating or acting like her usual self (lethargic, hot to the touch). After a couple days of this behavior I started to get really worried. A cat who isn’t eating is never a good thing, especially when the energy level is low. I called my normal vet, who couldn’t get me in. By this point I knew she needed to be seen asap, so I started calling around. Abbeywood, at first, said they didn’t have any openings, but when I told them I was really worried and that she hadn’t eaten or gotten up in a couple days they squeezed me in for that day. We were both shown so much care from the staff, and I could tell my cat was not as stressed as she normally is when going to the vet. Dr. Tyler assessed the situation and went through the treatment plan, and made sure I was okay with everything before doing any of it. He explained why he was doing each thing and even gave me the cost break down beforehand. I ended up needing to go back in three additional days to continue checking up and getting fluids etc. what I loved is that they made the time for these follow up appointments that were needed as well so I didn’t need to go to a different vet. Each day they called to check the progress as well. I felt like the treatment was moderate and appropriate and I didn’t feel like anything unnecessary was being suggested or done. All of my questions were answered and I felt confident in our next steps and what to expect. I am happy to say that my cat is feeling much better, and is back to her normal self. Thank you so much to the team who took care of us 🧡

Prices: on par with all the other vets I have been to, if anything, bloodwork was cheaper. They also have in house labs so you can get results faster.

Staff: very kind and attentive. Takes concerns seriously, listens to my perspective and takes my viewpoint into account.

Office: I liked that there was no music playing and the lights were either dimmed or off. I think this definitely helps with keeping cats calm. So many other vets are loud and bright and it can add to the cats stress.
