I've gotten Japanese hair straightening done several times, in and outside Illinois, and Carmen has been the best by far. Her and her son were very kind and accommodating. She explained every step of the process and took her time to get it right, even with the haircut portion. Her prices are also the lowest I've found for the amount of effort put in!
I was nervous to get my hair straightened again after a different salon left it damaged, but Carmen worked her magic and helped address the damaged hair as well.
Will definitely be coming back :)

Such a great experience! Carmen is meticulous about doing the Japanese straightening and while it took almost 8 hours, it was SO worth it! My hair is so soft and straight after getting this done- no blow drying needed! I’m so happy with the results!

I've had all my magic perms done in Ktown (Los Angeles) but I've finally found a local stylist in the Chicago area. Carmen is highly experienced and gets amazing results. My very thick, coarse, unruly Asian hair still dries completely straight and shiny from the shower (3 months later) and her price is incredible. I wasn't surprised to learn that Carmen had worked for many years in Korean salons, she is a total pro.

I keep coming back to Carmen for my Japanese hair straightening because nobody does it better in Chicago! If I have to come to Niles for A+ treatment you better believe I will! Carmen is so attentive, patient and thorough with my hair each time no matter how long it takes! She explains how to make your hair healthier before your treatment and then afterwards, explains what products to use and what to avoid. Her work is beyond unreal. Such a skilled stylist I’m so impressed at the quality of results, pricing is super reasonable and I’d honestly pay double what she charges because her work is that PERFECT! She’s so humble and when her assistant comes in to help it’s sooo much fun. What an awesome duo. Love love love them. It was such a blessing to get my hair done here, can’t wait for my next visit!

Carmen is hands down the best hairstylist you will meet. She is super knowledgeable, courteous, warm and friendly. Her service is beyond phenomenal, she makes sure you are comfortable, checking in on you during treatments, even handed me the remote if I wanted to watch YouTube /Netflix movies during the waiting phases for the treatments to set. This is my second time coming here and even more to come, for sure!

Poor customer service. When you book online it will be pending for request and you will have to talk to Carmen via text which is inconvenient for busy people. People are busy. Please put the instructions in your booking website. Texting isn’t good. She also has poor customer service, please work on your customer service skills. Call first before booking here as the payment will be pending on your account when you booked it already. And so you secure your booking because even you booked it online already she will have to accept it first and if you didn’t send her what she is asking you she will turn you away and accept someone else’s. People are busy so make it convenient for them Carmen. I don’t understand why don’t just let the people come for a consultation so people don’t have to text back and forth. This is the worst booking I have experienced.

I recently got the Japanese straightening treatment, and it was my first time trying something like this, so I was a little nervous. But the stylist did an amazing job! I had very long and dense hair, so it was challenging. She was super patient and clearly very experienced. For the price, the quality of service was fantastic, and my hair has never looked better. I definitely feel like I got my money’s worth and will absolutely be coming back!
