I took a Gentle Restorative class back in October 2025 with Julia Jonson and… Here I am, 8 months later, still going to this studio to get my weekly yoga session in. I go at least 2-3 times per week. I also attend workshops. Julia teaches pranayama workshops once a month and I highly recommend it! This helped me understand how the breath regulates the nervous system. I started paying more attention to my body and noticed that when my nervous system is on overdrive, my body becomes stiff which is why it was so hard for me to hold any yoga pose. By showing up to class, I allow my body to let go of tension and breathe in some ease.

I went well beyond my comfort zone to participate and graduate in the 200 hour yoga teacher training which completed in May. Julia and Sally were our primary teachers along with several revered special subject teachers who participated live with direct interactions with the students. What a life changing experience! Even if you do not plan to teach yoga this is something to consider if you want to learn about yourself and grow as a part of the human race. Additionally you will of course complete a difficult and quality program that does set you up for taking on yoga teaching at graduation. Several of my cohorts are actively teaching now!
I am a recent graduate of TBY Yoga's 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training course. I feel confident moving forward as a teacher because of the quality of the course and the instructors.
The course is comprehensive, covering yoga ethics and philosophy, asanas, panayama, meditation, class sequencing and professional development. If you aspire to be a teacher, or want to learn more about yoga as a student, this is the course for you!
I have known and practiced yoga with the instructors, Sally and Julia, for many years. Both have a deep knowledge of yoga. More importantly, both are kind caring individuals who foster a fun and inclusive learning environment. I...read full review
