My wife passed after 45 years of marriage and we both decided we want this funeral home to take care of business. My wife wanted cremation.I never liked the idea to be burned like a pile of garbage at the dump. But this home has a state of the art Aqua cremation system that simply put my mind at rest. It seems just so much more humane than fire. It's done with water and the bones left are pulverized in a machine that gives a sterile powder to you and 20% more of the loved one. As I reflect back on the passing of my father, I feel the need to express my gratitude for the compassion, sincerity and respect that John Callahan and his staff at U.S Davis and Callahan Funeral Home provided to myself and my family. First off, as the Grundy County Coroner, John responded quickly upon my father’s passing. Even though it was the middle of the night, he allowed the family as much time as needed before doing his official Coroner job.John was extremely flexible in meeting with us at the funeral home the next day to make funeral arrangements.
