Ha’s Taekwondo has truly been a life-changing experience for me. The instructors are not only incredibly skilled and knowledgeable, but they also care deeply about each student’s growth, both on and off the mats. Their dedication and passion for teaching are evident in every class.
What truly sets Ha’s Taekwondo apart is the strong sense of community. From day one, I felt welcomed and supported by both the instructors and fellow students. It’s a place where people of all ages and backgrounds and skills come together to encourage and inspire one another.
Grandmaster Ha is truly one of a kind. He places an incredible value on the relationships he builds with his students and their families. His genuine care and dedication go far beyond the dojang, creating a lasting impact on everyone who trains under him.
What sets Grandmaster Ha apart is his commitment to lifelong learning. Despite his mastery, he is constantly seeking ways to enhance his teachings, ensuring his students receive the best instruction possible. His passion for Taekwondo and his drive to continuously improve are inspiring to everyone who has the privilege to train with him. Ha’s Taekwondo is more than a school—it’s a family, and Grandmaster Ha is the heart of it. I am deeply honored to be part of his legacy.
Master Eric is also an exceptional instructor. He takes the time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and goals, fostering not only martial artists but well-rounded individuals. Personally, Master Eric has had a tremendous impact on my development as a martial artist and a person. His mentorship and guidance have shaped me in ways that words cannot fully capture.
Through my training here, I’ve gained more than just physical skills—I’ve developed discipline, confidence, and a stronger sense of resilience that carries over into every aspect of my life. Taekwondo has helped me overcome challenges, set meaningful goals, and build a healthier mindset.
If you’re looking for a place to learn martial arts, connect with a great community, and transform yourself for the better, I can’t recommend Ha’s Taekwondo enough!

I joined Ha's Taekwondo two years ago, and the journey has been nothing short of transformative. As an adult, I initially felt intimidated by the younger students with their advanced skills, but Grand Master Ha’s welcoming attitude has made it clear that students of all ages and abilities are valued.
As I’ve earned each belt, I’ve noticed a shift in myself. Not only have I developed new skills, but I've also gained more confidence. The instructors and black belts have been an incredible source of inspiration, encouraging me to push beyond my doubts and trust in both my mind and body. I’ve seen the progress in my kihaps, which have grown louder and more powerful, and my kicks, which have become stronger and more precise. More than that, I’ve noticed a change in how I approach each challenge in class, with a calmer attitude and more trust in myself.
I realize that my journey is not just about individual achievement, but inspiring others to push through their own challenges as well. To me, that sense of shared motivation and support is one of the most beautiful aspects of Taekwondo. Ha's Taekwondo isn’t just a place for personal growth, but a community where we push each other to be better, stronger, and more confident. We don’t let age or skill level define us; instead, we empower one another to reach new heights, and in doing so, we build something far greater than ourselves.
Taekwondo has shaped me in ways I never imagined, and I’m grateful for every moment of this journey.

Our son started at Ha's TKD when he was 5 years old and having difficulty in school. At Ha's, he found a place to channel his energy and develop discipline. He learned to better control his emotions and set goals for himself.
Over the years, we moved to several different states before returning to the Chicago Northwest suburbs. We had the opportunity to compare Ha's with 3 other TKD studios in the Southeast USA and Northern California. We also attended a TKD camp near Seoul, South Korea. I can honestly say that Ha's TKD prepared our son to excel in all these environments! He recently won 1st Place at the New York state tournament as well! Excellent School!

Parents beware! A "chester" has been serving as an instructor at this McDojo! Always be proactive to observe placement of restrooms and areas for individuals to change clothes. Observe if the instructors are showing favoritism too.

While I originally was going to sign my daughter up at Ha’s for self defense training, Grand Master Ha convinced me to sign up as well. While after 6 years, my daughter has moved onto Cheerleading full-time, Ha’s training served as a good basis to build up other skills. I, on the other hand, continue to go today (9+ years later). Originally it was a great way to de-stress from my day and learn some new skills. As time has gone on, I have found (and continue to find) it helps me to grow both physically and mentally. The Grand Master and his instructors want to focus on personal growth and becoming a better person as a result of the training.Having talked to people whom have gone to other gyms, what stands out about Ha’s TKD (unlike other gyms) they are not just trying to ‘push’ you through the process to get a black belt as quickly as possible. They are more focused on character and skills development. They like to ensure you learn the skills to take you to the next (belt) level prior to going to that level. You promote to the next belt when both you and the instructors are confident with your skills. When I think about the amount of growth in skills, flexibility, strength, focus over the years, I am amazed why I did not start sooner! Thanks Master Ha!!
