Ascension St. Joseph Joliet - Birthing Center

The care the ER provided to my 90 year old mother was a joke. Leaving her in the hallway for the entire 6 hours she was there. The nurses were very rude and ignorant. Trying to get someone to answer a question was impossible. Had to go there since Edward's Hospital is out of ambulance range.

This place used to be acceptable. Here's my experience on July 7th... went to the emergency room about 12:30 at night with stomach pains, probably 25 people in the area not a big deal but I handful these people have been waiting over six hours. I was in serious discomfort so after about three hours, I got to see a doctor. that part was OK,next morning.There was only one nurse for the whole triage floor. The old woman next to me was there to get her foot amputated. She was laying in a dirty diaper from the previous night and for the five hours I sat next to her she asked to be changed and cleaned up many times and still did not happen. My wife just spent five hours in the ER. She arrived by ambulance. They checked her in, took some blood. Then she sat there. After 5 hours I had enough. We left! I will never go there. I will drive by St Joe's and drive 20 minutes to Silver Cross. This is a poor excuse for a hospital!
