We’ve taken our dog to Apex over the years and it is a very friendly veterinarian office. Our dog is excited when she goes, which demonstrates that the staff is loving to their pet “patients.” However, the three stars is for the issues that we’ve had twice now, whenever Lily is in the office for longer than a routine visit. The first time, she developed a rash over a period of days, however, one of the doctors called, explained their cleaning procedures and assured us that our dog didn’t pick up anything from the facility. Just this week, we took her in for anesthesia induced teeth cleaning. The next day, I noticed she had fleas and it’s been an ordeal continuously cleaning her body, her items and our home. We also administered her monthly dose of anti flea medication without luck. Veterinarian services are too expensive to have to entertain the risk of a flea infestation. Unfortunately for this reason, we’ll be seeking a new provider. Moral to the story - it’s a great place for in and out procedures but nothing where your pet has to be housed for hours.

Our journey with Apex started 10 years ago when we moved to Smyrna and brought our then 3 year old Golden Retriever, Hudson to Dr. Cary, who had just opened Apex. Immediately we knew we were in wonderful hands with not only her, but the entire staff. Over Hudson's almost 9 years as a patient, he, and us, were treated with kindness and love, always receiving the best care. When our boy got sick, Jamie carried him from my car, all 80 lbs of him, into a room and back and forth for his testing. When we said goodbye to him, I could see their genuine compassion, and they were so respectful of our last moments with him. Our family is eternally grateful for all they did. This is why there wasn't any question of where we'd bring our new girl. Dr Cary, Barbara, Kari, and all the other vet tech are the best around, and I can not recommend them highly enough.

I used to think i could trust this vet with my furry baby girl. But i have lost ALL faith in their ability to properly treat and care for her.
my dog is currently 14yrs old. at the end of last year she started having a really bad head tilt. It was so bad the poor thing was falling over and running into walls. I brought her in to have them check her out. Without running any tests i get told that "she is old and this just happens to old dogs" and that was that. Luckily i have a friend who runs a dog rescue. I told her the sympto,s and her first question was "Did they check her ears and test her ears?" and i was shocked that i didnt even think of that. i had full trust in the vet and their advice. So i took her back and had them look in her ears and then test them. my poor baby had a really bad yeast infection in her ears. Today i took her in today because she has been losing hair and has sores on her skin. It has been like this for over 9 months. Todays appointment was the 3rd or so time i told them about her skin. Told i said i wanted her skin looked at and tested. Turns out she had a bacterial infection and yeast infection on her skin. She has been suffering through it for 9+ MONTHS!!!!! Each time Ive been told that its just because she is old. So rather than doing tests or anything other than looking at her they just give a quick reason for her issues.
i had to pay for 2 different appointments for her ears and ive mentioned her skin at least 4 different times. So ive spent all that money on appointments for ME to have to figure out whats wrong with her. my poor baby girl SUFFERED for waaaay too long all because they didnt do a test. But i sure as hell had to spend my money on NOTHING.
i will never be going back here and i have a friend who has said the same thing. the quality and caring have gone down the drain. i feel ive been fleeced of money. There is no excuse for any of this.
i dont care about an apology as its hollow and doesnt change a single thing that THEY DID/DIDNT DO!!!!

Dr Cary has been amazing every time I see her. Many of the technicians are catering and wonderful, but after many years I am leaving this vet due to increasing prices, lack of understanding and difficulty scheduling appointments. Their back end systems don't create a customer experience and management is rude (simply read Yelp review replies... you can tell the level of "let us explain... you are wrong... we don't care what you say" they project. I have sent friends to them, I have spent thousands with them. And can no longer support the beautiful soul Dr Cary is because she is no longer overseeing her practice and the other vets don't care like she does. I hope she understands and knows this move for our family is after many moments where I gave them grace. I'm sorry to leave the practice and this review but it is time
