My dog recently passed away, and the experience of putting him down at this clinic was one of the most distressing moments of my life. I did not arrive that day expecting to say goodbye, so the decision and process were already shocking and overwhelming.
While my dog was actively dying, a vet tech walked into the room with an upbeat tone and said, “Let’s get him all checked out,” as if this were a routine visit rather than the end of his life. In that moment, I felt stunned, hurt, and completely unseen. It was profoundly tone-deaf and inappropriate for such a fragile situation.
I have had to say goodbye to pets before, and while it is always heartbreaking, I have never experienced something so emotionally careless. End-of-life care requires compassion, quiet, and emotional intelligence—none of which were present in that moment.
A sympathy card was mailed afterward, which I appreciate, but it does not undo the trauma of that experience. My hope is that this feedback leads to better training and awareness, because no family should have to endure additional pain during one of the worst moments of their lives.

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone at this clinic. Everyone has taken great care of my pups. From the front desk to the techs to the Doctors.

This was our first visit at Chattahoochee Animal Clinic and Dr. Dawkins was great. She took care of Maggie's annual vaccinations but also provide options for her allergies and upcoming plane trip! She was very helpful and hope that what she chose for Maggie will work. The rest of the staff is very attentive and caring. As this is close to our house, I hope to continue Maggie's care here. It also was less expensive than our previous vet for an annual visit.

I rarely write negative reviews, but Chattahoochee Animal Clinic has declined so dramatically that I feel compelled to share our experience. Our French Bulldog, Bella, is paralyzed in her hind legs and was struggling with chronic UTIs and recurring ear infections. We were forced to move from Rose's Animal Hospital (unfortunately they closed), and we moved to CAC, who had months to address these issues. Instead, they kept bringing us back in, running the same expensive tests over and over, and prescribing the same antibiotics without ever getting to the root of the problem. The bills piled up and we were CONSTANTLY bringing her in, but more concerning was the complete lack of genuine concern for ACTUALLY treating and resolving her issues.
We finally left CAC- frustrated, exhausted, and no longer willing to watch Bella suffer with these recurring issues. Within ONE MONTH of switching to Roswell VETS4PETS, the difference in Bella's health was finally resolved. Their vets identified the underlying allergies causing her ear problems and created a real care plan for reducing UTIs. She has done a complete 180 since being under their care.
If you love your pet and want real solutions- not endless bills and bandaid fixes- go to VETS4PETS. I cannot recommend them enough. CAC should be ashamed of the way they operate and should seriously reflect on their priorities as a veterinary clinic.

Love the staff and vets. Dr. Smith takes special care of my rescue pup Courage who is terrified of people. Thanks for great service and care! We have a new rescued family member Zoey who is now a client as well. Dr Dawkins is wonderful! She is great with all 4 of my rescues!! Even Courage! ♥️🌹

I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience deserves one. I’ve boarded my dog here several times without issue—until recently.
Each time, the boarding requirements seem to change, which I understand to some extent. But this last visit was extremely frustrating. I spoke with multiple staff members, and depending on who I talked to, I got different information. One person told me my dog needed a full set of vaccines. Later, someone else said, “No, just this one.” Then I got a follow-up call insisting I did, in fact, need the full set again.
When I picked up my dog, I was charged for the extra shots. I asked for a refund and was told it would be processed. Since then, I’ve called multiple times, been told someone would follow up or send a receipt—and still nothing. On my last call, I was told to call back again on Monday. Why? I was already told days earlier that the refund was being handled.
The boarding itself was fine. My issue is with the office staff and their inconsistent communication and lack of follow-through. Unfortunately, the poor customer service has made me question returning.

I have two Beagles from the same litter and have raised them these past 11 years. They are my best friends and literally everything to me. Somehow I love them more each day and am very picky when it comes to their overall well-being and who I trust to care for them in every way.
I WFH and in 2016 my baby Jack had a seizure and I raced him to his vet at the time (not going to say where) and after a million tests and thousands of dollars later, she said it must be neurological and they couldn’t tell me anything except to get a second opinion.
That was all I needed to hear and my mom told me about Chatahoochee Animal Clinic. She had been telling me how incredible they were and just absolutely loved the veterinarians and wholeheartedly trusted staff.
I made an appointment that same day and that was 9 years ago. Dr. Dawkins and Dr. Smith pretty much helped me raise my boys. My babies get super excited when I tell them it’s time to get in the car and go see Warren (he’s an incredible vet tech that always helps me get them checked in, situated and my dogs adore him).
They’ve been treated by both Dr. Smith and Dr. Dawkins over the past 9 years and every single visit has provided nothing but excellent care, accurate diagnosis, emotional support for me, non-rushed educational visits and genuine loving care for my boys.
Both of my boys have had several major surgeries over these past 9 years and the outcomes have always been positive with minimal recovery time. They tell you everything they’re going to do beforehand, patiently answer your questions and provide true transparency.
I’ve been making my appointments for them with Dr. Dawkins these past couple of years because she has Beagles too and that puts me at ease.
A year ago, I took my boys out for our evening walk and were attacked by a pack of three dogs. My boys fought hard to protect me, and they did but at great cost, both physically and emotionally. Dr. Dawkins responded like an Avenger… She told me to get them there ASAP and made it her business to save them…and she did.
It took multiple surgeries for both of them and I had PTSD from the attack. Dr. Dawkins (and the whole office) provided excellent care, skill, knowledge, talent and overall support for the three of us.
Kris and Cori in the front office are angels on earth! They are both so patient and kind and don’t hold it against me when I rudely call crying during a panic attack, thinking something’s wrong with my boys, demanding answers…. Ladies… THANK YOU FOR TALKING ME OFF MANY LEDGES. The boys and I look forward to seeing you for their annual exams!
