My four-year-old daughter had her first Sharkey's haircut today. We had the pleasure of meeting Mitzi who was friendly and welcoming as soon as we walked in the door. She went above and beyond by letting my girl pick her favorite chair (she picked the princess Jeep!), made sure her favorite show was on the TV, and had her pick her favorite scent of shampoo (she picked cotton candy!). She was gentle and patient with my shy, wiggly girl. She listened to my concerns about how to care for her curly hair, made excellent suggestions, and cut her hair perfectly! Loved that the whole experience is clearly designed to make children comfortable with their first haircut. Our daughter is 3 and doesn't always love strangers touching her, but the stylist (Mitsy) was amazing, listened to her and me and was also able to give some advise on how to manage my daughter's changing hair texture. After all that we learned that the cut comes with a manicure. It was the best surprise ever.

I genuinely do not know how Mitzi does it. My son is very stubborn. Totally does not want a haircut. I try to wait as long as I can in between cuts. Recently, I had to get it done because we have an upcoming wedding that he is in. My son is thrashing and throwing a hissy fit. He's only a year and a half but somehow for the third time, Mitzi was able to manage the situation with professionalism and a calm nature and resulted with a fabulous haircut for him. Thank you Mitzi! Oh and getting to take a balloon was the highlight of the day! The little things count!
