We ended up with a beautiful shower that is *probably* waterproofed correctly; however, the sub-contractor who actually performed the work tried to get away with only waterproofing the corners of the walls, and when confronted insisted that concrete backer board is waterproof already and doesn’t need AquaDefense. Most of the actual work was performed by a non-English-speaking sub-sub contractor under some direction by the sub-contractor, who was rarely present- but when he was present, he was abrasive, rude and condescending because my wife didn’t have the details- that we gave to the project manager well in advance.
