I have been part of Brown Skin Women Home Hair Care Academy for 1,5 years now. I live in Spain and take care of my daughter's natural tight curls. There are no words to describe the amazing support and knowledge provided by Carmen Veal Conway. She is building an incredible curl community packed with help, knowledge, support and judgement free. Previous to joining Brown Skin Women, we had been navigating YouTube and Instagram in the search for a natural hair care routine for tight curls. And we mostly found two types of pages: either you tube videos describing product after product and DIY remedies without a cosmetology-based rationale behind them, or knowledgeable tight curl specialists who offered great kick-off learning sessions to start this journey. But we were at a point where we knew the basics and needed support for improving and maintaining my daughter's hair care routine. With Carmen's guidance, we get to perfect our wash and go technique and get the opportunity to tailor our routines to accommodate other styles, based on my daughter's needs. There has never been any question unanswered by Carmen. What's more, her advice is always direct to the point, with really useful and practical recommendations. She is not only an amazing professional, but she is generous, kind and an inspiration. I recommend her 100000000%. My only regrets are that I wish we had found her earlier and we were closer to her salon (we're not even on the same continent... !!). Thank you so much, Carmen!!!!

Brown Skin Women Studio is nothing short of extraordinary. Carmen pours her heart, mind and soul into each and every client who is lucky enough to sit in her coveted chair. While my hair has never been happier and healthier, it is the total transformation in mindset, understanding and love of my hair that I am forever grateful for. Hair isn't just being cared for at BSWS, clients are being taught lessons that break generations of trauma. They are lessons that we are able to pass along to our children. Proof that Carmen and BSWS are about so much more than fabulous, healthy natural hair. ?

I'm a member of Brown Skin Women Home Hair Care Academy, run by Carmen. She is extremely knowledgeable about all types and textures of hair, which in itself is amazing. In addition to that, she is a person who is incredibly gracious and inclusive to everyone and shares her knowledge in a way that makes it accessible and easy to understand. I've learned so much in the time I've been a member. It would be a dream to sit in her chair and have her care for my hair in person!

I've been a member of the Brown Skin Woman online membership for less than a month and within just a few weeks I've learnt more about my hair than in the 47 years I've been on this earth!
Already my hair is hair is much more manageable and whereas I used to dread wash days (to the point of feeling anxious!), with the tips, tools and products Carmen has taught me about - wash days are now a breeze! : )
If I lived closer (I live in Spain) I'd be a loyal in person client too! I highly recommend Carmen.

Home hair care academy in the house! I live in New Jersey so I have not met Carmen in person (yet). However, I am a member of her home hair care academy with Brown Skin Women and she has completely changed my life. I was blessed to find Carmen on TikTok while scrolling late one night and something about her automatically made me feel like she was someone I could trust.
